Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

I drank a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter for brunch the morning after NYE 2010 in Chicago with my brother. The appearance in a clear medium dark red color with an average and frothy head. The aroma is malty, roasted, and has hints of vanilla. The taste is the same with the watery consistency known of average to below average porters. I did not dislike this beer, but would not order again.

Very soft creamy feel. I had this in both nitro at world of beer and bottle from the store. Both are very good but nitro is the best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this at WOB on nitro. This is a low abv, sweet beer with a thin mouth feel. No cloying flavors, very well balanced.

Better on nitro, this beer is more of a finish beer so to speak, as it is slightly sweet with the aroma of vanilla and spices. Beer is smooth and sweet to taste, at least off o the nitro. In bottle it is more bitter to me than smooth, but still a good finish.

Pitch black with a wonderful tan creamy head. Malty sweet aroma. Chocolatey vanilla coffee flavor. A great dessert beer.

Very sweet initially, then sour as the malt kicks in, and bitter in the finish and aftertaste, maybe even a little too much. Very good.

Had a point on nitro at Fermentation Lounge in Tallahassee. Great creamy head and solid vanilla nose. A classic. Great when you want something a little sweet.

Appearance: pours a decent tan head that falls fairly fast with some mild lacing. Color is a deep reddish brown. Aroma: vanilla, chocolate, and roasted malts, with floral and herbal hops. Mouthfeel: medium to heavy bodied with a creamy consistency. Flavor: vanilla is quite dominate somewhat balanced with cocoa and dark roasted malt flavors. A background of bittering hops in the finish. Overall: very good but not outstanding.

Clear reddish brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is vanilla, burnt roasty, chocolate, licorice. A little odd. Flavor is vanilla at the forefront along with chocolate sauce. A little tangy like every other Breckenridge beer I’ve had so far. Not sweet or cloying. Ok. I imagine its a polarizing beer.
