Bottle, BBOTM. Coke colour, quick dissolving tan film. Very vanilla, a little roasty and a little vanilla extract in the nose. Tastes bitter, then vanilla overshadows everything. Carbonated, medium-bodied, roasty undertones and bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

Clear black with ruby highlights and a small off-white head. Aroma of roast, dark caramel/raisins, no discernible vanilla though. Taste of roast, chalk, some sweetness, liquorish, ash. Roast/ash finish. As a porter quite nice, but the name implication makes you feel as if something is missing.

12 oz bottle from Supermarket Liquors. Brown/black with a creamy light tan head and patchy lacing. Toasted malts, rich dark chocolate and vanilla hit the nose. Similar flavor with light roast, light coffee, nutty and fairly sweet. Light thin body with a soft smooth feel. Easy to drink. not bad.

Bière foncée, plus brune que noire, peu mousseuse. Nez de café avec du caramel sur le fond. En bouche, je goûte des fruits rouges et plus précisément du raisin. Le sucre résiduel donne du corps à la bière. J’ai acheté ce produit parce que j’adore la vanille, mais on la goûte à peline.

Bottle at home. For a beer that puts its name in all caps, there is nothing here that exciting. The vanilla aroma is very subdued and actually overpowered by the dark malt nose. The appearance is black with none of the ruby tint that should be present. Mellow on the palate with a smooth bitterness and very little back.

Pours very dark - seemingly black but with a tinge of red. Quite attractive in colour and aroma, with a very roasty feeling on the nose. However, the taste is overly sweet and bitter all at the same time. I feel like my palate is overwhelmed by the sweetness and then a bitterness lingers all around for a while after it goes down. Truthfully, I don’t hate it because I think it is kind of interesting take on the vanilla porter, and it certainly isn’t bland. With the right food pairing, I think it could be good.

Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Léger goût de chocolat, de vanille et de caramel. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût.
