COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

There was some inconsistency while drinking this beer. The first bottle I drank had only a subtle taste of vanilla mixed with chocolate and caramel. The second however was overloaded with vanilla; it tasted almost like a vanilla coke. The flavor was too strong and hard to enjoy. It also reminded me of sour milk, and was very sweet on the lips and tongue. I can only see myself enjoying this beer with a dessert like chocolate cake or pudding.

Very disappointing. I really like porter beers and I typically like vanilla flavored things, but I found out I don’t like "flavored" beers. It looked really nice in the glass and maybe that got my hopes too high. Of course I finished the beer, but I will not buy this one again.

Strong malty aroma. Pours with a suddy cream head without much tracing. Dark mahogany colour. Can’t smell much of the vanilla but you can sure taste it. It lingers on the tongue well after the malt taste dies away. Some chocolate notes in the smell as well. Decent beer. Bottle from Health Food Store in Lebanon, NH.

The draft that came across the bar was very dark with a whiteish head. Aromas of roasty malt, and vanilla. Medium bodied with flavors of roasted malt, vanilla, and a light hop presance at the end.

Tap. Very dark with creamy thin head and decent lacing. Smells like honey and white rice. Sweet and metallic- definitely taste the vanilla. Thin. Hopefully, this is just a bad one or something.

Mouthfeel is a little weak, but vanilla flavor is wonderful. High quality vanilla bean taste.

Pours a rich, dark brown with a thick and frothy head. Primarily small bubbles. Top note of roasted malt with a hint of vanilla. Initial taste of roasted malt; reminiscent of bread and a dry earthy note. Carbonation seems to detract from the taste yet the mouth feel is smooth with a light, lingering hint of vanilla.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2012 Pint on tap in tampa, pours a dark brown/near black color. Aroma is vanilla as expected but not overpowering. Some roastiness present. Taste is also vanilla, minimal bitterness, pretty sweet. Palate is flat but has a good subtle vanilla aftertaste.

I wasn't sure what I was getting into. Then I poured it into my glass and was in heaven. Dark, tasty and the aroma of vanilla coffee. Beautiful small bubbles on top. Deep black color. Easy on the way down. One of my favorites ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Okay for the style. A bit watery in texture and flavor, even though the vanilla and chocolate porter aspects were still apparent.

Sickly sweet vanilla ice cream aromatics. Taste of vanilla candy obscures dry roasty background. A black beer for kids with a sweet tooth.
