COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottle Conditioned regular.
Beer drinkers will appreciate that, with an abv of 4.5%, the Brecknock Best has a floral nose and ‘a distinctive hoppy taste to compliment’. Its malty sweetness is said to give way to a pleasant astringency derived from the Pilot and Bramling Cross hops. The hoppy bitterness persists into the aftertaste to provide a refreshing zing and a distinct moreishness.

Cask at Peterborough BF ’06. Amber with a very slight haze. Sweet malt aroma. Straightforward watery ale; not much sweetness or bitterness. A faint hint of citrus.

DruncanVeasey (5145) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 17, 2008
Bottle from Arden Wines. Copper pour with a slim but stable ivory head. Sweet berry fruit aroma with cherry stone alcohol notes. Faint resiny hopsack if you really poke your nose in. Watery red apple, cherryish/almond flavour. Caramel, earth, toffee, dusty hop and butter cookie. Sounds more exciting than it is. Watery to the point of emptiness. Not their best.

TheGrandMaster (2313) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 6, 2008
Bottle (in NZ). Has the same caked sediment inside the next, a lively pour produces a large head that settles to a thick cream on top of a clear dark copper. Rich malty aroma, somewhat bready, with hints of floral hops. The palate seems somewhat unrefined - earthy and grainy, with a finish that is short and gravelly. A tart fruitiness in the otherwise bready malt flavour. A little disappointing after that aroma. I don’t know how much this has suffered from the trip over.

Bottle conditioned. Good solid "best bitter". nicely malty, banana esters there which I liked. Full body and enough bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Very clear with malts and citrus present. Very easy to drink and definitely an abovr average bitter.

imdownthepub (7470) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2007
Bottle conditioned, 500ml. Brown amber with full white head. For me this was a typically Welsh, malty beer with sweetish dark malts, a rounded fruitiness, easy drinking and smooth. It loses out a little because it doesn’t develop on, there is no finish nor hoppiness. A good beer but with flaws.

Bottle conditioned. Flat looking dark brown, scummy head. Sweet malty aroma. The taste is not very nice, some malt and thats about it, with an unpleasant oily mouthfeel.

maeib (6630) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2006
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Peterborough BF. An amber coloured beer. The aroma is thin with some malt character, but a fair amount of nothingness. The taste has some berery fruit, Also suffers from thinness, but can be enjoyed.

Reminds me baby’s poop, but I do not know why. HOwever, it has an interesting flavour, maybe is the grains added the ones who cause that.
