COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special. The Breconshire Brewery is proud to be able to work with The Green Valleys, Wales’s only finalist in NESTA’s Big Green Challenge £1million Climate Change competition. The organisation has especially commissioned this real ale to promote its aims of increasing energy sustainability and an understanding of the problems caused by climate change. Brewed using malt and hops sourced as locally as possible, this beer reflects the fresh, clean atmosphere of the Brecon Beacons. The Green Valleys community project is helping develop alternative power resources and other sustainable ventures throughout the Brecon Beacons National Park. To learn more about The Green Valleys and how you could become ‘carbon neutral’ please visit www.thegreenvalleys.org
This beer is brewed with water drawn from under the hills of the surrounding Brecon Beacons National Park, and blend of pale and gold malts, all from Warminster’s traditional Floor Maltings, which give this beer its wonderful golden colour. A blend of locally grown Fuggles, First Gold and Sovereign hops provide a clean citrusy flavour.
This 5.0% abv characterful Golden Ale is a smooth, full flavoured beer, with a clean citrus hop aroma and long, refreshing aftertaste. Initial malt and light fruit dominate the pallet, with the citrusy hops rounding off the mouthfeel - a taste worth saving the environment for!

Cask at the guilford ... copper ... odd looking bubbly off white head ... soft toffee malt nose ... odd sweet fruit ... lime peel ... nice but odd.

Cask in the rake. Alround rating: Sweet nutty malt, bit grainy dusty old malt, little to no hop character. Not a hottie.
