Cask-conditioned at the castle, London EC4 25/02/08. Burnished gold colour with a slight, but lacy white head. Aroma of sweet malt and some grassy hops. Flavour also inclined towards sweetness with a decent dry finish. Drinkable.

cask at cloisters ... light amber ... odd sulpherous nose ... ligth fruit ... dull ... again a hint of sulphur.

Quack-Duck (5921) - Down South, GERMANY - SEP 4, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2010 on tap at the Kilverts in Hay-on-Wye, as "Kilvert’s Gold". Lovely beer garden overlooking the square there, by the way. Golden colour with no head to speak of. Dusty nose with malty hints. Slightly malty, slightly hoppy, dusty character and lots of cardboard. What happened here?

Golden with a lasting white head. Fruity apple aroma, with a hint of rubber. Dry and dominated by burnt rubber flavour.

Cask at the Rake Welsh Festival, 1st March 2009. Hazy golden amber. Quite fruit and hoppy but not overwhelmingly so. Not very citrus or grassy either. A restrained golden ale or a bland one? Take your pick.

Cask @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.
Clear medium orange color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, sour old malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. IMO something wrong. (050808)

Cask at GBBF08. Almost clear copper colour. The flavour is awful, very plasticky. Must be something wrong with the lines.

A Mes rate: Cask at GBBF.
Dirty gold, no head. God this is bad. Sweet, tropical fruit syrup added to what appears to be some mucky rainwater that has been collected in a plastic barrel in someones back garden. Awful

Cask. Low off-whigte fluffy quickly disappearing head. Clear golden body. Mild fruity aroma. Relatively bitter piney grassy flavor with low carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste.

Cask conditioned - handpump - GBBF 2008. A golden beer with a sweet floral aroma and very sweet floral taste too. Some puddles and dishwater also. Very odd.
