COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional.
A deep golden coloured ale, bursting with complex flavours derived from the oak whisky casks used for this beers long maturation. The whisky spirit is evident in the aroma, with underlying promises of further delights. The initial taste of vanilla and fruity malts progresses to a long, dryish finish, with further flavours developing from the wood and the spirit.

4th August 2010. GBBF.
Slightly hazy amber beer with a suddy off white head. Semi dry palate. Rich dark orange hops and a brandyish malt make this beer feel almost like a Christmas Special. It’s a tad too dry but a nice flavour and very drinkable.

Cask conditioned at Merton Summer B.F ’08. Hazed orange brown with white head. This was a frutiy sweet big beer, alcohol nose and fullness but quite sherry like on the close. It’s ok.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Fin’s excellent Merton Beer Festival.
Hazy amber with no head. Aroma of chlorine and whisky casks. Flavour is a little better than I expected after the aroma but it’s still not great. For me it’s a standard matured for too long in a whisky cask. Very, very dry finish with more, all to obvious peaty whisky. Not for me.
