COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed by Oranjeboom, Rotterdam (Netherlands) until the early 90’s. After the closing of Oranjeboom production was moved to Breda (Netherlands). This brewery was called Verenigde Bierbrouwerijen Breda-Rotterdam at that time and soon to be renamed to Oranjeboom Brouwerij. The Breda Royal brand however always still mentioned United Dutch Breweries (wich translates to Verenigde Brouwerijen). On closing of Oranjeboom Brouwerij, Breda in 2004 by InBev production was moved to both Bremen and Leuven. Until 2008 when Randalls acquired the licence. Some production is also done at Hofbrauhaus Wolters (under the name Getränkeindustrie Altewiek).

500ml bottle from Aldi. Grassy hop aroma; straw coloured with a trace of white head; quite lively carbonation; some malt flavour; some bitterness; refreshing but very very average.

A bland beer. No great taste and it has lackluster appearance. Needs to be chilled and served in a tall glass. I wouldnt recommend this brew unless required.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2007 Canned 0,50L [Breda Royal Lager].
Compact head of medium duration. Limpid yellow color, watery and with light fizz. Simple and ordinary scent with light herbaceous and cereals notes. Little prickly and washed out taste. Decidedly modest bitter and alcohol content.

33cl Can. Was pretty cheap and wanted to increase my number of consumed beers. A typical pale lager beer, I had better and worst.

Bottled. A golden coloured lager with an initial white head, but that disppears rapidly. The aroma is buttery with a little sweet malts and a touch of grassy hop. The taste is bog standard pale lager. Very little of anything to disern it from the water which is its base. If anything a little malt.

Can (brewed 14.07.2005)
Clear golden color, creamy white head. Ashy, grassy hoppy nose, like in some N/A beers. Light lager with plain malty base and woody hopping. Similar to many cheap German supermarket lagers. A bit hoppy aftertaste.

Can found in Singapore 7-11. The Danish royalty are sensible in sending this to Singapore! Bland and average all the way, again with that hallmark tincan aftertaste of a cheaply made pale lager.

Interesting to see that this gets around a bit. Found it in a convenience store in Singapore, costing me a whopping $2.40. Not really worth such an investment though as it is a thin pale version of the many Euro lagers in the market. Quite metallic in its flavour profile and poor mouthfeel. Another rate but that’s it.
