Brewed by Oranjeboom, Rotterdam (Netherlands) until the early 90’s. After the closing of Oranjeboom production was moved to Breda (Netherlands). This brewery was called Verenigde Bierbrouwerijen Breda-Rotterdam at that time and soon to be renamed to Oranjeboom Brouwerij. The Breda Royal brand however always still mentioned United Dutch Breweries (wich translates to Verenigde Brouwerijen). On closing of Oranjeboom Brouwerij, Breda in 2004 by InBev production was moved to both Bremen and Leuven. Until 2008 when Randalls acquired the licence. Some production is also done at Hofbrauhaus Wolters (under the name Getränkeindustrie Altewiek).

500ml can. Pours clear golden colour with a short white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, low to moderate bitterness, fruit and a little hops. Nothing special.

Flavours and aromas are so *yawn* boring; this could be ANY macro "Royal" (Hahaha!) lager. Boring has its place, so that’s not a game-killer on its own. What kills this beer is, yet again, a disgusting vegetable oil glugginess in your throat at the end of a sip. Fancy a tablespoon of canola oil? Royal lager my arse.

330 ml can into glass. Strong sweet nose. Wheat? Malt? Saccharin? Slightly hazy yellow beer with scummy head. Flat watery taste with slight bitterness. Finish is malty bubblegum. Not much fun.

330 ml can. Absolutely disgusting smell, a mix of chemical and something rotten, maybe my can was in some kind of bad condition. Golden color with white head, with that kind of fuzzy foam. Taste wasn’t any better, tasted like candle wax, and not in the Vincent Price cool kind of way. What stays in your mouth after drinking is boring, at least, for something this bad, is not like you’re gonna get a week hangover, I should try a 12-pack with some friends to tell (something that, of course, I’m not gonna do). The only way I could drink this beer again, is that there’s no other drink but water in the world. In the place that I bought it there were 2 other beer from the same company available: "Classe Royale" and "Weidmann"; even if both were bad, they were better than this one.
