COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brekeriet White Label
Brettlehem is a Scanian Christmas beer spiced with cloves, that gives a special character by fermentation with the mixture of different yeast strains, particularly those of the genus Brettanomyces. The beer is carbonated naturally by fermentation in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast sediment on the bottom. The taste of this beer continues to develop in the bottle for a long time

Mörkt brun med lågt småbubbligt skum. Typisk brett-doft + nejlika. Välkyddad med nejlika, lätt kropp, frisk, lätt syrlig. Brettanomycerna och nejlikorna gifter sig mycket väl. Den rostade malten märks inte alls. Annorlunda och gott men lite enkelspårig.

Bottle at Yespr’s - Thanks. Clear very dark brown - offwhite head. Nice malty, roasted, bretty notes, red berries, crispy bretty notes, peppery, spicy, very notes, very nice - but i’m not a big fan of black saisons....

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of anders37. Almost clear mahogony with a very small head. Spices dominates the nose, very strong notes of cloves. Sweet, spicy, almost woody taste - way to much cloves to get an impression of the beer itself. Medium body, short spicy finish.

Bottled. A hazy dark red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of cloves, cinnamon, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of cinnamon, cloves, roasted malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry spicy finish.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy dark brown wit a small off white head. Aroma is brett, fruity and horseblanket. Light fruity, toasted malty, caramelish and yeasty. Light phenolic dryness. Bitter and dry brett fnish. Cinnamon like.

Papsoe (25090) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 13, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of anders37. Pours an orangey brown with a small beige head. Odd farty, yeasty, spicy nose with a chemical tang. Medium body, heavy xmas spices while the Brett adds a minerally and farty edge - sort of like band aids. Odd and not overly thrilling. May develop in a more interesting way with age. 131212

Bottle bought at Systembolaget in Malmö, December 2012. Clear dark amber with a small head. Aroma of clove, some pepper and toffee. A lot of gingerbread in the taste. Also toffee, yeast and spices. Not that much brett in this one. Really an interesting beer.
