Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle. Pours clear red with a partly lasting and spotted lacing frothy small almost purple head. Aroma is black currants, elderberries and a hint of leathery brett. Taste very light sweet and light+ tangy. Body is light, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Finishes short and very dry and balanced. Reminds me mostly of delicious homemade black currant juice.

Bottle sampled @ decadent symmetry tasting. Thanks to Martinus. Lovely maroon color like red wine, with lace. Huge cassis nose, a bit of acid. Medium sour flavor, again huge cassis, a bit dusty. The fruit flavor is overwhelming but lovely. Can’t really find the beer, but very tasty.

Draught @ SBWF. Pours a dark ruby red, with a pink head. Intensely fruity aroma, blackcurrant, cherry, citrus, funk, blackberry. Dry, medium bodied, low to mid bitterness, balanced CO2. Fruity, very tart taste, citrus, blackcurrant, lingonberry, funk. A bit tough, very tart and astringent, but lovely fruit character. I don’t really get all the hype about this one. (2013-10-03)

A Very reddish brown color, nice foam but no lacing. The aroma is earthy with berry fruit, some funk. Flavor is also earthy, tart, dry. Kind of a light bell pepper taste in there which is strange, i suppose it results from the combination of other factors. Bold flavor, well done for what it is, not really my thing though.

Draft at Mikkeller and friends. Refreshingly sour but the sourness does´t become to much. Great black currant flavour!

Shared at RBSG 2014. Thanks Anders. Nose is amazingly fruity with some hay and barn. Taste is immediately puckering and a light rooty earthiness to it. Pour is crazy red. Very tastey with a chest thumping sourbess in the finish.

On tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours rubyred with a small pink head. Aroma has lots of cassis-juice, hay, brett. Really dry. Taste is Nice sour, dry with lots of rather indefinabel berry-notes. Raspberry, cassis etc. After taste is much like mixed sour berries. Tiggeling feel with High carb. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
