Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

33 cl bottle I was lucky enough to get ordered to Systembolaget in Mölndal. BB 2015-01-03, sampled on March 30, 2013.
Bit hazy dark red color, big lasting inside of blueberry pinkish red head. Wonderful look! Sweet, mellow, black currant lemonade scent. Tart, berry, sweet, black currants lemonade taste.
You could fool someone that don’t like beer or alcohol with this one for sure! Can imagine this to be a fantastic summer drink, works well late Swedish winter too though.
Acidic tart finish. A bit bubbly, sort of smooth, tart mouthfeel. Low bitterness.
As my friends will say I’m not one to follow a hype much, but this I can understand why it has been talked up by so many, really hope to be able to have this one again. Very well made, and guys - very well done, be proud of this!

Bottle 75 cl on March 14, 2014, thanks to Dunbar72! #255/552. BB 2015-12-16.
A bit hazy dark red color, nice pink head. Black currant leaves, black currant lemonade, acidic scent. Acidic, sour, black currants taste. Sour aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, very low bitternss. A bit salty.

Bottle, 33 cl, at Papsø, thanx. Beautiful light red with a pink head. What a lovely aroma, fruity, light tarty and intense, bringing back happy childhood memories of picking up black currants for my mum. Very dry, light tart flavor, sooo fruity, with a nice touch of citrus and a little woodyness for balance. Very good.

On tap at Brekeriet Bar. At last... :) Red-pink with no head. Aroma is like tart home made black currant juice. Taste is tart and fresh with a lot of black currant. Dry mouth feel, light body and carbonation. Long and dry after taste.
Lived up to the high expectation but a little more carbonation wouldn’t hurt.

750 ml bottle shared by anders37 at RBSG’s grand tasting. Thanks again, Anders! Pours a ruby red color with a pink head. Notes of wildflowers, herbs, black currants, cherries, dandelion, grass, tannins, and lactic acid. Light-bodied, with a dry, tart mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Awesome stuff.

Tap at Borefts 2014. Pours clear burgundy with a pink head. Aroma of big tart blackberry and light funk. Light sweet and over moderate acidic. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Reminded me of VSB but without the hype.

Sample at SBWF 2012. Slightly hazy deep red with a small pinkish head. I really liked this one. Really a lot of sour berries in both the aroma and taste. Not as sweet as many similar beers can be. Very refreshing and drinkable. Lovely stuff.

Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival. Clear, deep red/blue/pink liquid with small to medium pink head. Aroma of cassis/black currant, barnyard, leather (funk), raspberries and lemon. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of black currant and funk. Great! Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Best Swedish fruit beer I’ve had.
