Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle, 33 cl, at Papsø, thanx. Beautiful light red with a pink head. What a lovely aroma, fruity, light tarty and intense, bringing back happy childhood memories of picking up black currants for my mum. Very dry, light tart flavor, sooo fruity, with a nice touch of citrus and a little woodyness for balance. Very good.

Bottle, rated from backlog. Dark purple with pink head. Aroma and taste: BIG cassis, lightly sour, some metallic/mineral notes, nearly no malt or hop at all. Very drinkable

On tap at Brekeriet Bar. At last... :) Red-pink with no head. Aroma is like tart home made black currant juice. Taste is tart and fresh with a lot of black currant. Dry mouth feel, light body and carbonation. Long and dry after taste.
Lived up to the high expectation but a little more carbonation wouldn’t hurt.

750 ml bottle shared by anders37 at RBSG’s grand tasting. Thanks again, Anders! Pours a ruby red color with a pink head. Notes of wildflowers, herbs, black currants, cherries, dandelion, grass, tannins, and lactic acid. Light-bodied, with a dry, tart mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Awesome stuff.

Tap at Borefts 2014. Pours clear burgundy with a pink head. Aroma of big tart blackberry and light funk. Light sweet and over moderate acidic. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Reminded me of VSB but without the hype.

Bottle from Emil, thank you very much! Yields a dark red, ember color with a purple note to it, and a thin head. leaving back a decent lacing. The aromas unleash an intense, ripe fruitiness of cassis berries, providing also darker, more matured stone qualities. While it has a recognizable tart note, its not too present on its own, but illustrates the present fruit. Smells actually quite sweet, with lots of fruity, slightly fermented, sugared cassis berries. Taste and smell compliment each other perfectly, as the flavors of the beer are more sour than the nose revealed. Begins with a tart acidity, leathery malts and a good load of barnyard funk. The fruitiness is still very present, with a short earthy, sweet peak, which then turns slightly dry, very sour without discarding its stone qualities. Cassis berries are integrated outstandingly well, recognizable at every stage of drinking the beer. While evolving from sweet, to earthy, to dry, the fruit is always the centerpiece of the taste. Even though the beer finishes with a crazy long lasting, tongue quenching sourness, the fruits, now relieved of all sweetness still interacts well with the tartness.

Grumlig röd/lila öl med rosa skum. Doft av svarta vinbär, citrus, surt. Grymt god i samma bana med vinbären som dominerar och en riktigt schysst surhet. Strävt slut. Gillas! @SBWF2015 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at SBWF 2012. Massive smell of berries, lightly sour with lots of cassis. Light acid taste with lots of cassis, actually fairly fruity sweet. Light funky. Very nice!
