COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Cassis is a sour ale mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Black currant is added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves berries which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Cassis is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Pours a beautiful dark red with pink low head. Aroma of black currant, massively so, with some red apples, light grape. Taste is bold black currant sour, with a slight sweet in the finish. Body is light and refreshing with average carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ GT Cat’s Cabana. Thanks, GT. Bright red pour with a short lived pink head. Nice funky blue cheese nose. Plenty of currants, berry, some lemon, pineapple, and starfruit. A bit of lemon zest as well. Nice sourness on the palate. Tons of tropical fruit, currants, and citrus. Lemon, some blue cheese, and berry. Solid stuff.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 Sample @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours hazy ruby red with a small pinkish white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is refreshing and fruity with black currants, hay, lemon juice, red currants, lemon zest, dry soil and hints of barnyard. Taste is sour and fruity with black and red currants, lemon juice, hay, crackers, barntard, lemon zest and brett. Mouthfeel is tart, dry and light bodied. Finish is slightly sour, dry, tart and fruity with lemon juice, black and red currants, hay and hints of brett. Nothing too complex but damn freshly fruity and nice. After trying 5 beers from Brekeriet I find myself looking forward to what’s next even though nothing has blown me away so far. But I just can’t deny how excited I am to see someone take the initiative to start Swedens first modern style farmhouse brewery. Keep up the good work. I will definitely try to find whatever you release.
