Brekeriet Black Label
Brekeriet Saison is a Scanian saison receiving its special character by fermentation using a mixture of different yeast strains, particularly those of the genus Brettanomyces. The beer is carbonated naturally by fermentation in the bottle and therefore giving a thin layer of yeast on the bottom.

Bottle@Pikkulintu. Earthy aroma. Cloydy and coppery. Strong body, nice malty biscuit. Alhough promised by the label of the bottle. No Bretanomyces is not that prominent.

22/VIII/14 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 29/IV/16, batch: 39 (2014-931) Thanks to hackobock for the bottle!

Little cloudy orange beer, small irregular white head, unstable, dissipates immediately. Aroma: floral, lots of orange peel, honey, pretty oxidized. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sour, dirty, infected, unpleasant vinegar sourness, white wine notes and some hay. Aftertaste: very sour, tannings, earthy, lemony, orange peel, very oxidized. Brett is not an excuse for infected beer... This is horrible.

Bottle@bottle home. Haze amber. One finger foam. Yeasty citrus notes. More Spicyness than fullblown Brett aromas. Dry complex flavours. Like it a lot.

Bottle at home. Low but lasting fluffy white head. Hazy amber body. Powerful fruity acidic brett aroma. Pretty sour fruity dry brett dominated grapefruit vinegar flavor with a nice bitterness as well. Low carbonation, long dry sour finish.

This is a great saison. It´s full of flavour, fresh and perfect for a summer´s evening. Nice one inch head after pouring, orange and a touch hazy appearance Taste is malty, fresh fruit, appleish and brett backbone. Aftertase is sour lemony, nuts and creamy. Mouthfeel is full and well rounded.Good carbonation, not overdone My new favourite and as good (if not as complex) as the few Hill Farmstead that I´ve been lucky enough to try.

Pours a little hazy amber body with a tiny head. A funky and sour aroma. A well balanced and sour taste makes this one really nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle pours cloudy toasted orange brown with no head, almost flat. Nose is musty sweet bready malt, orange, light tartness, syrup, light yeast spice. Taste is similar with a somewhat syrupy mouthfeel, some light acidic lacto tartness, and a finish is sweet fruity bready malt and yeast, light spice, and some lacto tartness.
