A deep chocolate, malty beer brewed with oranges to give it that extra pazazz and matured to create a classic ‘old ale’ style.

500ml bottle: BBD Mar 15. Drank side by side with the Wells brewed ’Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale’ on 15th Sep 14. The Wells beer suited my sweet tooth more than this brew. Pours a mahogany colour with not much in the form of a head. The orange came through in both the aroma and on taste, but weakly, the chocolate even less so. Not at flavoursome or rich as i had hoped for and frankly a bit of a disappointment. It seemed almost thin in body depth and even the 6.5% ABV could not turn it into an interesting brew, for me anyway.

At the Brit Beer Fest in Belgrade. It pours dark brown, tan foamy head. Nose: raisins, wood, dates. Mouth: very complex. Dry fruit, herbs and leather. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of beuk87, thanks! Clear bright amber bron color. Aroma is herbal, medicinal orange peel. Taste is herbal spiced burnt caramel. Extra appearance point for the name.

Great name. Pours a deep black color, topped with a decent cream colored head. There is a pleasantly roasty aroma, some caramel as well. The taste is decently bitter, slight roasted notes and caramel. I couldn’t taste the orange, but there are some fruity notes. Some lingering bitterness in the aftertaste and some spiciness. Great one. Easily drinkable and filling.

5/VII/14 - 50cl bottle @ RBBSG III (Gent) - BB: VII/2014 (2014-726) Thanks to Beuk87 for sharing the bottle!

Clear pale brown beer, small aery off-white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, very sugary, some chocolate, orange peel, malty, hay, honey, sweet. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter, mocha, sweet malts, orange peel all right, soft bitterness, caramel. Aftertaste: bit roasted, soft hoppy touch, bit sour, orange peel, bitter ending.

Black. Beige head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt, perhaps with a slight hint of oranges. Taste is slighly sweet, with some malt bitterness. Not quite in harmony.

Bottle from B&M. Pours mahogany with no lasting head. The orange is quite evident both in aroma and on taste. Overall quite bitter with dark chocolate coming through on the finish. A little sharp, but an interesting beer. Slightly let down by the thin, over carbonated mouth feel.

Chockwork orange pours a mahogany color with a light tan ring for a head. The smell is orange, caramel, cherry. The taste is as it smells, rich and sweet. Medium body, slick with mild carbonation.
