A deep chocolate, malty beer brewed with oranges to give it that extra pazazz and matured to create a classic ‘old ale’ style.

Black. Beige head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt, perhaps with a slight hint of oranges. Taste is slighly sweet, with some malt bitterness. Not quite in harmony.

Bottle from B&M. Pours mahogany with no lasting head. The orange is quite evident both in aroma and on taste. Overall quite bitter with dark chocolate coming through on the finish. A little sharp, but an interesting beer. Slightly let down by the thin, over carbonated mouth feel.

Chockwork orange pours a mahogany color with a light tan ring for a head. The smell is orange, caramel, cherry. The taste is as it smells, rich and sweet. Medium body, slick with mild carbonation.

Bouteille 50cl @ RBBSG III, courtesy of beuk87.

500 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to beuk87! Brown amber. Early nose, light soy sauce, sweet grains, thick caramel. Lots of very UK caramel malts, caramel, touch ripe fruits, earthly, sugar. Very malt-dominant & far from as impressive as I had hoped. Very nondescript.

Sampled @ RBBSG III. Clear orange brown color, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma is a bit old and dusty, caramel. Taste malts, caramel, a slight touch of bitter, a bit dusty. Average body and carbonation. Decent.

50cl glass poured in a Duvel glass. Pours a dark brown (ruby when held up to light) liquid with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is rich chocolate, toffee and ripe fruits. Medium mouthfeel and a very good example of an English Ale. Unsure how much impact the orange has on the taste as it was certainly not evident. However, a generous helping of powdered dark chocolate, coffee and fruit cake was present. Very sweet with a late bitterness. One of the better English beers I have tried.
