Cask at the Pembury Tavern on 20th November 2009. Gold with white head. Deliciously bitter; herby hop aroma and a delayed but rewarding bitter finish on a fairly textured mouthfeel.

Cask conditioned at The Crown, Oxford. Gold with white head. Weetabix type malt note, biscuity, grainy with a limited earthy hop note. A little thin on the palate, it comes over as a little bland. O.k but not memorable.

Cask at The Drum, Leyton, London. Hazy pale amber. Fruity sweaty nose. Sweet and fruity with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fairly low bitterness. Unremarkable.

Cask at the Espy. Pours clear gold with white head like a generic cask ale. Smells of feet. Taste is a chore. A very poor cask ale.

Bottle 500ml.
Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, dry grass - citrus grass, leather notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110619]

Bottled. Ambery golden colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with some mild notes of honey and bready malts. Flavour is earthy, fruity and mild bready malts with some bitterness.

Cask @ Market Porter, Borough SE1. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty hoppy earthy flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish.

Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Golden with a dense white foam. Aromas are spiced oranges with lemon. Hay maltiness with grapefruit pith and some herbal and floral notes. Flavours are sweet and fruity with a jammy character. Peppery with a woody, dry finish. Initially impresses but then wanes a little.

13th July 2010. Chelmsford Beer Festival. This beer is now known as ’Brentwood Gold’. Slightly hazy gold beer. White suddy head. Light dry palate. Orange and grapefruit dry fruit, lightly spiced. Not bad, fruity enough to retain interest.
