COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional. Also available bottled all year round.
Our full bodied red premium bitter. A well balanced bitter with full malt flavours and a lightness of the hops coming through in the flavour, leaving a pleasing end note and lingering bitterness.

Bottle BBE End July 2014. Reddish amber body with large rocky head. Good lacing and head retention. Toasted malt and slightly doughy aromas. Touch of butyric acid on the nose. Medium bittnerness and a gentle sweetness, the texture is slightly soapy with light carbonation. Liked this more than I wanted to with its horrendous name and bottle design.

Bottled (from AbM). Amber colour with a small off-white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel malts, mild toasted notes as well as some bread, nuttyness and mild coffee as well. Flavour is toffee, some mild bitterness as well as some mild nutty and wooden notes as well. A bit thin as for the palate, but otherwise very nice.

Clear amber beer, tidy white head. Somewhat dry palate. Dry malt with hops that impart more bitterness than flavour. Dry finish. Bitter aftertaste. So very English Bitter dull.

Bottle, Aroma is white bread with a little citrus hop undercurrent with a tiny malty caramel in the mix too. Thin and dry on the palate. Taste is very malty and the bitter earthiness of British hops is evident. Dry, biiter and refreshing. Nice seesion beer.

hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2011
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber with a small off white head. Faint vegetal aroma. Sweet spicy malt taste with a sharp bitter finish. I have mixed feelings about this beer. Being thirsty, I chugged this beer pretty swiftly, but I found the hops a tad dominant.
