COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional. Also available bottled all year round.
Our full bodied red premium bitter. A well balanced bitter with full malt flavours and a lightness of the hops coming through in the flavour, leaving a pleasing end note and lingering bitterness.

Clear medium amber color with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, bread, light coffee, toffee, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20100119]

Bottled (from AbM). Amber colour with a small off-white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel malts, mild toasted notes as well as some bread, nuttyness and mild coffee as well. Flavour is toffee, some mild bitterness as well as some mild nutty and wooden notes as well. A bit thin as for the palate, but otherwise very nice.

Clear amber beer, tidy white head. Somewhat dry palate. Dry malt with hops that impart more bitterness than flavour. Dry finish. Bitter aftertaste. So very English Bitter dull.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2009 1. Cask Handpump at the Church Hall, Frodsham 06/01/2007 Nutty aroma. Large white head. Mid brown amber coloured and nutty with some bitterness in a dry malt finish. 2. Cask Handpump at the Penny Black JDW, Northwich 05/01/2009 Fruit aroma. White head. Amber coloured with some sour fruit flavour. A little dryness and bitterness in a full malt finish.

Bottle. Amber brown with a thin head. Aromas are weetabix and dark treacle malts with some nuttiness. Chocolate with some citrus. Quite yeasty. Flavours are sweet toffee and chocolate with grapefruit and spicy hops. Herbal on the finish. Good.
