3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2009
A Mes rate: cask at Baker St ’Sporks. Copper coloured with a good creamy off white head. Slight apple in the aroma does it no favours. Pleasant nutty malt dominated flavour with a faint dusky bitterness. Good fruit and a little caramel add some depth. Good body. Decent chewy malt finish but let down again by some burnt plastic. The middle is good, shame it starts and ends poor.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber with a small off white head. Faint vegetal aroma. Sweet spicy malt taste with a sharp bitter finish. I have mixed feelings about this beer. Being thirsty, I chugged this beer pretty swiftly, but I found the hops a tad dominant.
