A great medium strength ale - loads of flavour from the best English Hops, and an inspiring patriotic pump-clip!

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Chestnut with white head. Sweetish smooth beer with a slight nutty character. A little caramel character but just a little too thin, standard Spoons fare.

Bottle, Aroma is white bread with a little citrus hop undercurrent with a tiny malty caramel in the mix too. Thin and dry on the palate. Taste is very malty and the bitter earthiness of British hops is evident. Dry, biiter and refreshing. Nice seesion beer.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Clear amber colour, off-white head. Nose is soft malted, caramel, bit bready. Flavour is caramel malts, bit of hops, little vegetables. Not too well.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber with a small off white head. Faint vegetal aroma. Sweet spicy malt taste with a sharp bitter finish. I have mixed feelings about this beer. Being thirsty, I chugged this beer pretty swiftly, but I found the hops a tad dominant.

Cask (pint) at The John Wallace Linton, Newport, Wales. Reddish amber colour with small tan head. Quite sweet and yeasty, reminds me of American Red Ales. Could have another one.

A Mes rate: cask at Baker St ’Sporks.
Copper coloured with a good creamy off white head. Slight apple in the aroma does it no favours. Pleasant nutty malt dominated flavour with a faint dusky bitterness. Good fruit and a little caramel add some depth. Good body. Decent chewy malt finish but let down again by some burnt plastic. The middle is good, shame it starts and ends poor.
