Cask - The Masque Haunt (JDW), Old Street, London. Bubbly & lasting off-white head leaving some lacing atop a clear copper body. Some candy apple and toasted malt on the aroma. Musty yeast, a generic malty sweetness, a slight apple tang and an almost lagery graininess beneath. Soft palate texture, light to medium body, with a lingering grassy & soapy bitterness.

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark London, Greater London England SE1 9AA.
Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, berry, wet wood notes, apple notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20081227]

On tap at the Great Lost Bear. Poured an amber red with a tan head. Smelled peaty, malty, and only mildly hoppy. Taste was a pretty standard IPA taste, no daring hop-titude here, but it’s a pretty clean and good tasting beer. Reminded me very much of Andrew’s EPA, it’s more of an English style pale than the IPA’s i’m used to.
