3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask (gravity dispense) at St Albans Beer Festival, September 2006. First beer from a new brewery and a promising start. Straw coloured. Not a particularly aromatic and flowery golden ale, but packed with sharp, zesty lemon. Touches of orange marmalade too. Quite restrained bitterness, but the tart citrus makes for a very crisp and refreshing tipple.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Golden with a small foam. Aromas are grain with peach, grapefruit and lemon. Floral with caramel and spritzy yeast. Flavours are sweet biscuit with toast malts Lots of lemon and grapefruit towards the finish. Dry, addictive and bitter on aftertaste. I’m on a run of good bottle conditioned beers at the moment.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask Conditioned Handpump Coach & Horses Wellingborough. A golden beer with a white head and lacing. The aroma has a bit of fruit with some balanced bitterness in the mouth. Too safe and drinkable for its own good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
A Sim rate (cask at Chelmsford BF): Smells artificially hoppy with chemicals and lemon. Tastes similar, like a very hoppy beer with some lemon cordial mixed in. Watery palate.
