COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An original marriage between barley and grapes. The blush head of this "vine beer" and its deep red color, hide its complex structure and distinc flavor of cherries, blackcurrants and raspberries. The malt softens its tannins, giving its aging potential.

Appear: light red (like a blush wine) with a small white head that doesn’t persist Aroma: Very much like a red wine (tannins), dry cherry, no hops or malt character Flavor: How a barley-based wine cooler would taste. Very much red wine character with noticeable tannins and only subtle background malt character Mouthfeel: Light body with medium/light carbonation. Dry finish and a tannin-like astrigency persists Its very hard to judge this beer because their is no style that cooresponds to it. If they were trying to make something like a barley-based wine cooler ... damn they nailed it. Fruity (cherry), tannins from wine and light/dry so is refreshing on a hot day.

Pours cloudy rose red with thin head. Cantillon-like aroma - sour, plasticy, sour cherries. Dry and tart, crabapples. Tart and sour finish. Is this beer? Not in the traditional sense but more lambic than fruit beer.

How to make a Breughel beer palatable? Blend it with wine, of course. Lovely pink-red colour. Pleasant winey aroma is perhaps a bit mild. Tart, with sweet fruitiness. Seems fairly clean. A different sort of brew, certainly refreshing if not my everyday taste.

Draft at brasserie vandoren. The hue is deep ruby, and the little bubbles give the illusion the beer is a big raspberry. Blush pink head. Aroma is musty and interesting, with a distinct vinous character. The palate is light and off dry. Would be a 1 or 2 on the sweetness scale if it were a wine. Nice fruity tartness too, with lots of berry character. Light and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2010 ...That was probably worst than "Rêves de Vigne", which tells a lot. I wondered, back in the days, if it would have been better if I would have drunk it at a wine-like temperature... But I finally gave up and flushed the whole stuff.

Cherry colour with a thin white lace, Thin metallic aroma and cherry. Very refreshing ale. Hints of cherries, raspberries and mixed fruit in the flavour. Very subtle. Thin body. Would like a bit more body. Gets better as it warms.

Looks just like a blush wine. Awful almost carcinogenic aroma. Mouldy cheese cloth, stinky and baaaaaaaaaaaad. Is this a gueuze? Filthy dirty cardboard, apple, odd berries a bit of candy when warmer. I’m going to consider this as a gueuze. Interesting taste I guess: berries, club soda, yeast, horse blankey, sour cherries, bark (goes surprisingly good with wasabi peas)... ick. It has an odd fizz and the thinnest thick ever. Tart, very tart thoughout. I seems that I really enjoyed this beer and then really hated it and then repeat. Long sour blanket finish. It’s legacy is terrible ghastly breath.

Bouteille 500ml.
