Slight haze, minimal head. It looked a bit like ole root beer. Unclean spice, garlic salt aroma . Highly repulsive . Salt , old oil , garlic , dust . Horrible combination . Thank you

Garlic good, beer good; garlic and beer in the same bottle = bad. At least this came in a nice swing top bottle. From the instant the stopper was popped, yikes!! ....rather a strong garlic smell like a punch to the nose. I was expecting "some" hint of garlic but nothing like this. Onward I ventured, pouring the slightly cloudy medium gold, with the modest white head. Coming from the bottom of the bottle was what I thought might be sediment, but I caught it just before "it" went into the glass, "it" turning out to be two slices of garlic. Nice save, and into the loo they went. Aroma was garlic, and the taste was well, garlic. Mouthfeel was hard to judge, my mouth being overwhelmed by the garlic and the aftertaste was garlic. Might’ve been an okay pilsner but for the garlic. Would not and could not ever drink this again. ps All this garlic had an extreme laxative effect within the hour. Could this be worse than the infamous Chili Beer?

I want to first note that my review will be biased on Aroma and Flavour, because I ABSOLUTELY ADORE garlic. Now, with that said: A terrific nose! Garlic wears a nice coat over light hops. Not much else but delicious garlic bread in the mouth. I did catch a wisp of the ale and it truly seemed like nothing spectacular. Moderate feel in the mouth, nothing exciting. A taste to suite my palate, but I’m sure not that of the everyman.

Is this retired now? I had this a while back at the Garlic restaurant near the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. A curiosity really-- a pale lager that has been steeped in garlic (indeed, the beer comes with a little garlic clove in the bottom of it). At first it is off-putting because you can’t taste the beer behind the garlic (but once you get your food, which also is made with several pounds of garlic per entree), and your palate becomes absolutely pummeled by garlic, THEN the shitty pale lager component of the beer shines through. As I said, a curiosity more than anything worthwhile.

bottle. thanks to Jesse for sharing this world class beer. pours a yellow-golden body with small specks of presumabley garlic. aroma is pungent as all hell! very garlicy and not much else, it actually fills the room. Well there isn’t much to expect from the flavours either, with garlic it’s pretty much overpowering in all respects and that’s not entirely a good thing as others have pointed out. It’s only interesting for about a second and I can’t imagine anyone actually drinking this except for the novelty.

Uhm. Wow. Aroma is garlic bread. Not beerlike at all but it sure smells good. I can kind of taste some beer behind the garlic. An interesting taste - just one I hope to never experience again.

I like garlic. It helped that in transporting back to Toronto, the bottle got a good shaking up, and not too much sediment of garlic taste, and so the creamy head top overflowed the first third of the pour. Points for originality. Too bad this place is finito,

Golden beer with a freakin garlic floating in it. Fresh malty nose with AWFUL garlic sell. The taste of garlic is cloying and needs to be eliminated for any further tasting. Little body or hops in this beer. Interesting maybe to make a nice vinaigrette.

Hazy light golden color. Huge sharp and acidid garlic in the nose, if it was anything else, it probably wouldn't be so dominant, but what do you expect putting a garlic chunk in a pilsner? Some sweet malt in the body, but the garlic barely makes an impression (which is good). Not as bad as one might think.

(5oo ml bottle) Thanks to Kimchee for this fabulous experiment! Pours clear gold with a thin, white head. Garlic butter nose. Flavour is more oily with an overpowering garlic taste. When the clove slid out into Doug's glass I honestly thought someone had spat a loogie in the bottle - I nearly threw-up! Not complex at all and won't likely have again but was fun.
