Lived up to the name of trying to be a big dog... might try a little harder but still a great ale, I thought it had a nice sweet malty flavor that turned hoppy towards the end. Great color though, but as a IPA wish it had more of a bite

On tap at brew brothers in Reno. Taste is nutty with a weird aftertaste. Color is on the amber side.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Comes out of the tap a hazy dark honey-amber. Got little head, but this apparently was an artifact of the pour. Strong aroma is very hoppy and has a good undertone of grapefruit. Hoppy flavor is somewhat bitter and, like the aroma, has a grapefruit underpinning. Texture has good body and fizz. If not an outstanding IPA, still a worthy one.

On Tap- Has a clear Copper color with a decent head that faded fairly quickly with very little lacing. Nice clean grainy aroma with a trace of a citrus-sweetness. Has a mild citrus and hops taste with a so-so bitterness. Fairly medium body & smooth. fairly well balanced but expected a bit more. Decent beer, maybe good for a couple. Considering the brew house is in the middle of the Eldorado Casino, its a nice oasis.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft @ Brew Brothers El Dorado. Pours a murky, pulpy orange-golden color; bright, seemingly unfiltered; glistening, fine-bubbled lacing. Dense, chewy citrus and orange and earthy bitterness in the nose; oily; minimal astringency; a great nose. Loads of hop flavor and bitterness, following the nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy oranges, light-to-medium citrus acidity, earthy bitterness; a dense, chewy, generous and beautifully put-together IPA. In a casino. Wtf? Itís like Iím not even rating the same beer...maybe the same as KP. Lengthy finish, with a nice show of toasty malts, candy sugar, and lasting orange-tinged bitterness.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a nice golden amber with a small white head. A slight bitter hoppiness, but nothing too intense. Makes for a very smooth taste without the distinct character that an IPA should have. Itís drinkable and tasty, but not too complex. Pretty solid.

A golden amber IPA with a thin lacing white head. A distinct pleasant citrusy, floral hops, very west coast. In mouth, a goos hops and caramel malt balance, light solvent notes. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 2007.
