Jan 5, 2008 [822-20071105] Tap @ Amsterdam Rhino (Calgary, AB; called "Horn Dog"). Sweet hay-like maple yeast aroma, not overpowering. Clear, orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Yeasty grains flavour has a bit of sweet hay. Grainy medium body. Nice.

Nov 7, 2007 Draft @ Amsterdam Rhino in Calgary as Horn Dog Pilsener. Golden yellow body with a small white head. Mild yeasty floral aroma. Mild bitterness throughout, light grassy straw notes. (6+) Average palate. Meh.

Jun 10, 2007 Sample at Calgary beerfest. Deep golden, slightly hazy. Odd aroma of sweet esters that actually is offputting, synthetic almost. Overly sweet palate with a wheaty profile and a creamy mouthfeel, but ruined by a corn-syrup dominated flavour. More like a cream ale than anything, and certainly NOT like a pilsner! I didn’t care for it at all.

Nov 7, 2005 GCBF. Nice corn chip color with a stratified haze. Not cloudy so much as hazy. A spicy smelling but thin head floated in chunks. Mouthfeel was a bit strange, almost oily. The beer was too sweet for me, with minimal hop bittering, but a citrus lemon flavour and grassy overtones finishing the beer. Ok, but not in my top 100 crystal (hahaha) weizens.

Dec 14, 2003 Hazy yellow coulour, with some grassy whaeat aroma. The beer as a nice tartness, and almost a candy sweetness, with a light bitterness in after taste. Ok for the style

Aug 11, 2003 (tap)slight citrus, musty aroma. Pours golden yellow, slight head, mid-range carbonation. Brew Brothers malts provide for a nice mouthfeel. Citrus, light hops in the flavour. Not really distinguishable from other beers of this style; not bad though.

Feb 18, 2003 Not very cloudy for a beer calling it self a wheat. It did have a very good flavor though....very typical for the style, but still a well made beer.

Dec 12, 2002 pours golden with a tught bubbly white head. fresh, clean aroma. this beer is what it is, a wheat pilsner. it has the tartness and refreshing qualities I’l look for in a north american wheat beer, and even though it’s mild, it had the saaz bite. some slight bubble gum flavours too. not bad.
