A tad bit skunky, but in a good way. A nice red all around. Great alternative to Killian's. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This poured a lighter red color with a white head. Aroma was of caramel , grassy hips, and metal. Flavor was cracked red wheat, earthy metal, grassy hops and dirt.

Had this at the 2014 RB Pittsburgh Summer Gathering at Horny Devel’s place. Actually it was after the equinox at the beginning of fall, but DILLIGAF. Big thanks to James & Michelle for hosting such a nice spread of quality beers and for this particular beer a GIANT thanks goes out to artmcd8. Nice gentle yeasty aroma. Friendly big head. Poured from a can. Barely any co2 on the palate. Has some body to it. No real ill ale attributes. Overall, I found this quite acceptable. Does have a tad of saddle in there on the finish. Yes, pretty good darker beer experience.

Tasted on 9/24/14 from a 12oz can received as an extra in a trade. Pours a clear burnt umber with an average white head that leaves average lace, with some sticking to the inside of the glass. The nose is malty dark bread with just a hint of herbal hops. The flavor is the same bread malt and somewhat peppery herbal hops with just the lightest hint of smoke. The body is just under medium with lively carbonation, and a medium bread malt and very light hint of smoke finish.

can pours red, mostly translucent. toasted malt, balanced, some flowers and citrus in the finish that linger just a little. medium body that feels a little syrupy.

Deep ruby and light brown coloured body with a crisp, cola-coloured glow and a thin tan head. Aroma of nuts, earth, alcohol and some subtle hops. Medium-bodied; Strong caramel and nutty flavour with a lot of earth and malt noticeable, coupled with some alcohol bite and a hint of rye or grain. Aftertaste is fairly one-dimensional with a hint of caramel and sweetness at the end. Overall, a decent Irish Red with some nice light complexity. Neat to try, but I was expecting a bit more when this was brewed at Cigar City. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased yesterday at Good Beer in New York, New York for US$2,39 on 19-July-2014 sampled on the train from New York to home in Washington on 20-July-2014.

12oz can, thanks to jtclockwork for sharing. Date on can reads 2/25/14. Mostly clear darker red color. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Earthy hops, caramel malt, toasty malt, light spicy. Moderate bitter taste, kind of a dry finish. Light sweet. Hint of chocolate. Gets better as it goes. Decent Irish style red ale.
