Another pairing of hops and citrus. The juicy fruit punch of Motueka hops is offset by the zing of fresh lime zest; all backed up by a classic Saison yeast character.

Appearance: clear golden with finger thick white head. Aroma: lime, spice, leather, candied peel, earthy note and slight umami. Taste: Low sweetness, low/medium bitterness and medium sourness. Palate: Thin smooth texture, light body, average carbonation, dry abrupt citrus bitterness, lime, tart finish. Comments: Very tasty and glass lace.

Bottle from bottle-shop.eu. Thanks Bob! Yellow hazy colour, creamy white foam. Too much carbonation. Grassy aroma with fresh notes of lemon. Light bitter hoppy finish. Bitter, light sour notes. Ok beer.

Bottled, 330ml from Oeno, Cirencester, Gloucs. Pale gold with white head. There is a fruity, slightly sicky aroma on opening and this does follow into the beer. Light, with a fruit cocktail type flavour, sweetish then an overlying sourish note. The combination isn’t great in this case unfortunately.

Bottle. My first from this brewery. Cloudy yellow with a medium body. Fruity and left some sediment. A reasonable if not very exciting example of this style.

OK men ingen stor saison - mangler personlighet.

A cloudy yellow colour with a quite thickly textured white head. Pleasant aroma of yeast and citrus. The taste is quite grassy with a dry bitterness and hints of tropical fruit, dominated by lime. Nicely carbonated and very easy to drink, but perhaps a little too much like a fruit punch. Well balanced, but quite dry for a Saison beer.

Hazy, pale greyish yellow. Thin white head and lacing. Aroma and taste of lime, lemonade, pepper and mint. Fizzy mouthfeel. Pine, lime juice and some bitterness in aftertaste.

Bottle from the bierkoning, bottled on 24/04/14. Pale hazy yellow pour with nice white head. Aroma is grainy, yeasty, nice subtle citrusy notes, not too hoppy. Taste is bitter, light citrus, tons of grassy flavors, light grain, quite dry, no malt sweetness. Palate is very light, good carb. Kind of a mix between a pale ale and a saison, which I assume was the objective. Easy drinking, yet fails to blow me away.

Bottle. A hazy, yellow beer topped by a small, white head. The aroma is soft and fruity, with a herbal touch, almost like lime but not quite. There’s a nice peppery touch and a yeasty hint too. Saison yeast and black pepper, lime and a herbal and grassy touch too. Full body, soft carbonation and quite dry. Lasting finish with a nice bitterness and a good saison yeast touch. Sure a beer I could repeat some times. 140717
