Tasting at Bruce’ s pad. Thanks to Leighon for filling in the Brew By Numbers holes! Almost clear amber beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Smooth and airy palate. Light fine carbonation. Smooth semi dry malt. Light lemony floral hops with lesser generic citrus. Light dry finish with mild hop spice. Nice.

Bottle from Leighton at Colin’s 5K tasting. It pours murky amber with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is very soapy, bubble bath, grapefruit and lemon. The taste is soapy lemon, wood, earth, shampoo, varnish and a good deal of bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and foamy carbonation. Really far too soapy in my opinion. So-so.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, thanks to Leighton for this one, 13/11/13. Hazed orange golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is citrus, bitter orange, light soap, grass, spice, bread dough. Taste comprises bitter orange, citric tang, grassy, hint of soap. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitterness in the finish. Ok GB, touch too much soap spoils it and brings out down a few notches.

Tap at the brewery. Amber golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is earthy, bit stinky. Taste is quite grainy, bit of fruit there too, strawberry maybe, something unusual. Solid enough.

On tap at the Brew By Numbers brewery. Hazy amber thin white head. Tangerines peach and passion fruit aroma. Wow it’s hoppy and not hugely bitter. Good upfront bit of sherbet. Finish is relatively short but the reedy hop continues on.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours hazy gold with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma holds tangerine, lightly doughy pale malts, some citrus rind. Light to medium sweet flavor, bready pale malts, orange and tangerine, touches of flinty yeast, a bit more rindy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mellow resins to finish, some pine needles, orange, semi-dry pale malts, subtle minerals. Very tasty, easy drinking pale ale.
