Our Original Porter is brewed with seven different malts, including brown malt, chocolate malt and crystal malts. This results in a rich aroma and flavour that is backed up by a light dry-hopping.

Bottle at the launch party. Pours opaque black, with a tan brown head. Nose is rich and malty. Chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, prune, roasted malt. Taste is delicious and reminds me a bit of Carnegie Porter but even richer and better. Nice balance between chocolately, roasted malt and dark fruit, prune, raisins and a bit of vanilla. Very good porter.

Keg at the Brewdog AGM 2014. Murky brown caramel coloured pour with a thin scummy tan head. Aroma is nice earthy roast, touch of coffee and some earthy, light citrus hop. Flavour is earthy rounded coffee, semi sweet choc, then considerable earthy pine resin hop in the tail end. Lightly chewy palate medium body and lowish carbonation. Light mineral content in the water profile. Solid porter shame the pour didn’t look very good.
