4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma is quite dynamic, with predominating roasted malts, some baking cocoa, lightly tangy dark fruits, some milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with nice, velvety chocolate character, some bitter burnt wood and earth, charcoal, raisins and burnt toffee. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Robust roasted malt finish with some edgy baking cocoa, charred bread, hard water minerality and leathery fruits. Well balanced with nice complexity. Another winning dark beer from BBNo.

Chocolately dark malty aroma, hints of cocoa, milk chocolate, coffee, which somehow can’t deny their grainy origin. Taste is roasty dark malty, bitter, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee; full (somehow heavy) body,

Half at the brewery shared with the thepeter at Thomas’s b’day drink. Opaque very dark brown, off white foam head. Another classic and brilliant porter from Brew by Numbers. Nose is chocolate, black coffee, caramel, roasted malt. Taste is the perfect balance of flavours, not the coffee and roasted malt bombs that are popular right now. Luscious chocolate, moderate coffee and roasted malt, caramel, some dark ruby fruit notes.
