Pine and citrus: the defining character of American IPAs. The Simcoe and Chinook hops of the Pacific Northwest USA are the embodiment of this. We use them in abundance in 0505 for maximum flavour.

Bottle. As with a lot of their beers this was a slightly murky yellow.Lovely mixing of citrus and hops produce a very easy to drink beer. The alcohol presence is quite subdued for its strength but it is still another excellent one from this brewery.

Tap at the brewery. Really citrusey way, particularly some grapefruit coming through, and then an enjoyable piney hop finish. Nice beer.

Backlog rating. Bottle from the brewery. It pours a light golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma is hop forward on the fruity side, with pineapple and citrus. Taste is similarly fruity but not overly bitter. Grapefruit and peaches with a touch of acidic note in the finish. Medium mouthfeel and well carbonated. A tad too sweet for my IPA needs

Had this in bottle at Bracelands Campsite, nr Coleford, Forest of Dean, Glos, Saturday 6th September 2014 Orangey and glowing with a large sticky white. Really, really good IPA, pushy bitterness, furry bitterness, dry. Soft in mouth, wonderfully citrussy. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
