2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 beikes (69) - Aarhus, DENMARK - MAR 25, 2013
Very drinkable brown ale with a somewhat low alcohol % (pilsner strength). Aroma pretty straight forward, with hints of light raisin. Not much to discover on the palate, and there’s basically no aftertaste at all. Not too sweet, not too bitter.. This beer is quite boring, but works as an introduction to this genre of beer. It’s definitely a well crafted brew, but the only real highpoint here is the appearance - it IS a beaut, and the head is everlasting, serve in a pint or flute glass.

Bottle. 4.5%. Best before 12.05.13. Pours a slightly hazy amber/brown with a khaki head. Decent lacing. Sweet, hoppy aroma on a malty background. Sweet, malty flavour with notes of hops and a metallic overtone. Bitter, hoppy finish with a lingering bitterness and malty note – metallic and light apple note as it warms. A bit too much carbonation and feels a bit watery. Overall decent. 16.03.13.

Bottle. Pours reddish. Looks okay. Doesn’t smell a whole lot. Taste is sweet with notes of caramel, nuts and bitter malt. Not bad but ultimately pretty boring. Hey, at least this bottle was cheap. :-)
