Can 16 OZ. from Belmont Beverage in Fort Wayne, IN. Light amber pour with an average frothy white head that diminished slowly. Light grainy aroma. Light body with a thin texture. Light sweet flavor with a short finish. Cold wet alcohol with little character.

The body is light gold with a short lived white head. The aroma is corn flakes with some moss and dirt. The taste has cardboard and some plastic. There is also a hint of hay. A dry finish. Not undrinkable, but devoid of hops or malt character.

Straw color with a rather large and lasting white head. Minimal nose, with some scents of corn flour paste and touch of herbal hops. Rather dull feel, but nothing too offensive. Sweet grain and corn flavors. Some white grape and mild alcohol also in the mix. I think I detected a bit of malt for fleeting moment in the linger between quaffs, but far to brief to be memorable. I like tiggmtl comment of an inoffensive alcohol delivery system, but I do find a few things less than inoffensive.

This canned brew labelled Big CIty Ice and believed to be the Brew City Ice in the same can with the same artwork poured a large sized head of foamy finely szed mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent soflty catrbonated weak yellow colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma can be smelled form a distance with slightly off malty notes. The mouth feel is initially smooth with a middle that comes on a little stonger tingly and OK then finishes with a mellow malt hop note. The flavor is mild with malt hop and some compexity but rather plain in nature. The ICE quality is definitely there.

Well that sure is a fine looking can of beer. Big too. And full of all the bubbly sweetness that creamed corn has to offer in a beer... Mild, sweet creamed corn aroma is simple and inoffensive. Clear golden body is topped by a fizzy but lasting cover of white head. Corn flavour is mild in the sweet and lightly grainy flavour. Light body with strong pointy carbonation that prickles the tongue. While itís by no means good beer, it is, I suppose an inoffensive alcohol delivery system. Can sampled with ClarkVV and muzzlehatch.

16 oz can quaffed studiously while playing intently at Trivial Pursuit with tiggmtl and ClarkVV. Pale gold with a bit of lasting head...simple, light stale corn nose...fairly clean and drinkable body, very bland and sweet with no hops but not at all offensive. Lightly bad.

Pale yellow color. Slight aroma of apples. Tastes like an old barn with hay from a few decades ago lining the floor.

0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20
UPDATED: JUN 24, 2011 12 oz silver and blue can. Had this before and found it difficult to stomach. Cheap, 33 cents per can at the Beer 4 Less in Moon. Looks like any other pale yellow american lager. I really didnít want to taste this but the opportunity presented itself. Pop the lid and you get a whiff of sweet hints, it is pretty strong, maybe sweet corn. Odd, but I think I smell raw meat, too! Then, when you pour it into the glass the smell gets a little like acrid rotten corn. Taste is a little unexpected for a lager but right up the alley for an ice or inexpensive malt liquor. Difficult to enjoy is an understatement. I guess I should be ashamed for rating such a brew. I see there are only 21 ratings posted. The taste is a little harder than one would expect, a little rocky, mind you. Coarse to say the least. That funky ring of a head shows itself every drink from the foam that rises within. Finish has little alcohol hiding ability. I have read other raters write about ícorní and this definately is more cornlike than any other beer Iíve rated. Would not care to purchase this again. Industrial beer that can do the expecting job if drunk quickly. Will not buy again, one of the worse economy beers Iíve tasted, and I am the economy beer expert. At first the corny smell and flavors are sweet and interestingly attractive - then it becomes almost vulgar. Somewhat similar on the taste scale as King lager from austrailia. Ice has become known in the lager arena to be higher in alky for the cheap american beers. High alky at the expense of a gentleman like lager taste.

12 oz can. Bought a 6 pack of this to cook my brats in. Clear golden color. Head was white and disappeared quickly. Smelled of hay and husky grain. Flavor was similarly unappealing; grainy and salty (yes salty). It burned the back of my throat a bit as it went down.

16oz can pleasantly shared with Muzzlehatch and tiggmtl on 11/6/05. Smells of mineral water, light grains, dry corn-like notes and that lovely papery note so common in these quality lagers. Typical pale yellow pour, bubbly with a thin white head that recedes to a ring with no lacing. Flavor is surprisingly drinkable. Watery and very flavorless, with light hints of grains, but no stale or heavy corn syrup notes/alcohol/plastic/paper or anything of that sort. Just watered down grains. No hops apparency, no yeast apparency, very light body. Not what Iíd expect from an ice beer, which are usually more red, with noxious "caramel" flavors and plenty of alcohol. Mouthfeel is fizzy, but not sharp or terribly overcarbonated. It settles out to a fairly watery consistency, actually.
