Citrus hop nose, dark golden color. Creamy white head sticks to the glass and sits on top of the brew until the glass is empty. Silky mouthfeel starting with a floral taste, followed by alcohol, and a big burst of earthy hops that takes a long time to fade. Bitterness is there but it doesn’t show up until the end.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Oscbert (769) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 5, 2008
~Pours a darker colored copper color with frothy white head. Good lacing.
~Nice grapefruit hop aroma. Similar to Racer 5. Light sweet malts.
~Sweet bitter taste, a bit astringent, but still pleasant.
~Medium feel, lasting bitter finish, some astringent.
~I think this is my favorite of brew it up brews. Something seems to be lacking though. not sure what.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 riversideAK (4563) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - SEP 13, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2009 Medium hop funk herbal aroma with some sweetness too. Flavor is sweet and grainy with more of those herbal bitter hops. Finishes bittersweet and has a rather heavy mouthfeel.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 thedm (4124) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 4, 2007
This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated dark orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The strong flavor contained notes of hops. A decent one that I would consider buying again.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (7579) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 23, 2007
Aroma of hop. A little pine, a lot of citrus. Not so sure about grapefruit. Nice golden amber color, with a white head that left. The flavor was lightly piny hop. Very smooth. Great mouthfeel. The experience was not nearly so harsh as most DIPAs. The finish was nicely hoppy, a light undercurrent of malt, and the hop stayed with me for nearly an hour. Very, very nice.
