Draft pour at the source. Pours a darker amber with a beige head of foam. The aroma has some pine, earth, caramel, and tropical fruits. Sweet, fruity notes dominate. A lot of tropical fruit throughout. Quite tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at the brewpub. Hazy reddish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes gradually. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and roasted malt. Medium to full body with flavors of piney hops, malt and caramel. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

7/21/2013: Brew Kettle Imperial Red Eye - According to Jack Kephart, the head brewer at The Brew Kettle Produciton Works, "When we stopped bottling in 22oz bombers we discontinued the original Red Eye and upped the gravity so it fit better between our White Rajah IPA and Old 21 Imperial IPA. We also upped the hops a bit and made it draft only. We plan to brew it about 4 times a year for the foreseeable future." So thatís the story of this beer. But it is good? ABSOLUTELY FEAKINíLUTLY! Letís start with the beerís appearance. Talk about beautiful! Itís ruby to garnet in color with a dense, lasting beige head and clean complexition. The aroma just screams Pacific Northwestern-Style Red IPA to me - one of my favorite styles. There is nothing better to me when I smell a beer like this that suggests a nice caramel malt backbone with a pine and juicy tangerine hoppiness. I love it already. Ah yes... The flavor definitely delivers exactly what I was hoping to get. Rich, caramelized maltiness with just a touch of toast smothered with an ample amount of juicy citrus (orange, tangerine, red grapefruit) and a lovely pine and sticky resin hoppiness. The beer has a generous level of bitterness, but neither it nor the sweetness from the malt overwhelms or dominates the other. Wow, what a delicious and well-constructed beer. I love it. This is definitely a GREAT beer the best one of the day.
Draught (growler fill) shared by Brian. Thank you! Rating #4 for this beer.

Taster on tap at Neonís. Clear red, slightly orange color. Thin light khaki head. Respectable lace. Bigger body. Lighter, smooth somewhat softer carbonation, more dry finish. Some tropical fruity hop, light spicy malt. Hint of chewy, spicy hop. Moderate to stronger bitter taste, lighter sweet taste. Good spicy hop aftertaste, hint of the alcohol. Satisfying imperial red IPA

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to snifter. I donít believe this is an American Strong Ale; itís more like an imperial amber/red IPA. Looks good; a hazy mahogany with beige head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells solid; bitter hops with a malty amberish backbone.Tastes like it smells with a nicely balanced mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
