StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 3, 2006 Bomber. Transparent, mega-magnifying and pale copper in color with a creamy white rung and surprising cascading lace. Watermelon Jolly Ranchers give pause in the aroma, with following wafts signaling freesia, Band-Aids, fusel oils and sugary grapefruit. Modest pineapple taste joins a cranberry wheat bread flavor. Woodsy hop bitterness and a diluted passion fruit profile are at odds with each other. Musky, water-soaked corn husks. Diluted, weak and defined by brevity. Little to no malt backbone, with a pils malt finish into musky nothingness. kujo9 (1042), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Nov 12, 2004 Bottle: deep gold w/ a lasting white head. I’m not quite sure what the hell an Irish Lager is, but here we go! Bready malt and a light floral hop, also lightly grainy; clean. Well balanced w/ a lean toward a lightly bitte, floral finish, but has a sweet grainy malt flavor up front and in the aftertaste. Flavor is also clean of off flavors. Highly carbonated, prickly m/f, smoother as it warms. Light bodied but not watery. Overall a pretty good beer. Not terribly exciting, but a very solid beer with a lot more flavor than your typical macro.
