4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours deep red with a tan head. Aromas of coconut and chocolate. Taste like coconut milk and chocolate. Medium on the palate. The coconut really lightens the taste. Definitely a dessert beer. Really interesting. Good in small doses.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampler at the tasting room. Pours a mostly black with a fluffy white head. Aroma of coconut, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa beans. The taste was coconut and chocolate up front. Slight bitter on the end. I donít know why but a hint of infection at the end. Is there lacto in there? Medium body and carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is one unique and tasty brew. Taste of desert in a bottle. This brew has a unique chocolate and coconut character. Enjoy!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown pour with very little head. Aromas are chocolate milk, coconut, mint, and light coffee. Taste has lots of lactose and coconut, some light chocolate and coffee. Rough mouthfeel, kinda chalky. An ok milk stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle produces a jet black beer with minimal head or lacing. The initial smell is cocoa nibs or something bitter like that.
The first taste was amazing with a nice smooth mouthfeel followed by a subtle coconut after taste. This stout has the best coconut flavor I can recall in a beer. Subsequent tastes donít provide the same flavor but good time between sips provides great pleasure.
Thanks to Natalie (A distributor I met in a bar in Covington, KY)

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 6/20
On tap at the Tap House Grill in Kenwood.
A: Arrived in the glass almost pitch black, with a thin tan head. Minimal lacing was left on the glass.
S: I did not detect much of the chocolate or coconut promised by the name, but instead a mixture of roasty - yeasty malt and what seemed to be sweet mint. The combination smelled a bit like loam from a riverbank.
T: Again, not much in the way of chocolate or coconut. They were present, but mostly obscured by a single-note roasted malt profile and that mintiness. The beer opened with a club of dark roasted malt, with sweetness and mint joining in the middle to present a taste not unlike drinking a fish. Said fishy taste lingered on after the finish.
F: This is a full, chewy, heavy stout, exactly what one wants to feel.
O: Something of a disappointment to me, with the flavor profile. I wonít be repeating.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Taster at beerfest - I mistook the coconut for bourbon flavors. Quite complex and mildly sweet. Chocolate and roast aftertaste.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the Cincy Brew Ha Ha. Pours a deep, opaque brown (or at least from what I could tell - it was past sunset at this point) with a small beige head. The coconut and lactose are on full display here, but thereís also a significant earthy, citrusy hop note coming through - like a dark chocolate/orange peel-forward black IPA. It was like two different beers mixed. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, bitter, gritty mouthfeel. Either the hops or the coconut-lactose combo need to go because they donít work together when all are at the forefront.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Daily Growler. Black-brown pour thin team had and strong retention. Aroma of roasted malt and cocoa. Tastes are chocolate, caramel, slight burnt woody, cocoa bitter. Donít get too much of the coconut. Nice. 7.4

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft sample from 2012(notes). Pours dark brown in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have mildly roasted malts, chocolate, lactose, moderate sweetness, a hint of coffee, the coconut kicks in kind of late and is subtle. Not a big beer, but decent enough.
