Draft sample at The Pint Room, 6/19/2013. Medium-density dark brown smaller off-white creamy head; medium lacing. Roast, toast, chocolate, sweet, nutty. Body is creamy yet on the thinner side. I couldn’t find any coconut in this.

On tap at the Daily Growler. Black-brown pour thin team had and strong retention. Aroma of roasted malt and cocoa. Tastes are chocolate, caramel, slight burnt woody, cocoa bitter. Don’t get too much of the coconut. Nice. 7.4

Draft sample from 2012(notes). Pours dark brown in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have mildly roasted malts, chocolate, lactose, moderate sweetness, a hint of coffee, the coconut kicks in kind of late and is subtle. Not a big beer, but decent enough.

On draft at 1808 in Columbus. Pours a deep porter brown with an off-tan head. Nose is roasted malt with some mild coconut, some noticeable lactose, chocolate, cocoa, and hints of coffee with milk. Flavor is similar with roast, lactose sweetness, some mild coconut, chocolate, and hints of Hershey’s. Medium in body and beautiful with 1808’s beignets with espresso.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2013 Nice way to start a Saturday...with a smooth, creamy, and unique brew. Aroma of milk chocolate and coconut. Taste is milk chocolate that changes into dark chocolate with a perfect mix of coconut. Only negative is that it’s a little thin.

Sample at The Brew Kettle on 9/11/12. Pours clear dark brown with a medium beige head. Nose of chocolate, roasted malt and a bit of coconut. Milk chocolate flavor with some roast and a light chocolate finish. Not detecting any coconut in the flavor.

Poured on draft. Dark brown, near black with a greyish head of foam. Not really a dense stout, by any means. Aroma is mostly chocolate with a hint at the coconuts presence. I wish the coconut was a little more prevalent, but what can you do? Taste is primarily sweet and chocolatey. Finish has more of the coconut profile than did the rest of the beer. Overall nice.

Draft sample. Poured a brown color with a medium off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted sweet chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium chocolate sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Solid sweet brew.
