Draft sample at The Pint Room, 6/19/2013. Medium-density dark brown smaller off-white creamy head; medium lacing. Roast, toast, chocolate, sweet, nutty. Body is creamy yet on the thinner side. I couldnít find any coconut in this.

Bottle. Nose heavily coconut milk, essentially cloyingly so, with a little husk thrown in the deep bg. Pour a rich mahogany that is more black in the glass, a little ruby poking out of the bottom of the pint glass, a short and ephemeral light brown head, creamy but upset by the adjuncts, I think. Taste is very sweet and always threatens to cloy, but that rich natural coconut taste is just dynamite, supported but smooth medium chocolate. The velvety texture offsets a somewhat flat feel in the full body, though Iím not sure more aggressive carbonation would work. A touch of fruit and a touch of malt, if you can believe it, with additional waves of chocolate lapping the palate. I hesitate to celebrate this for lack of traditional "beeriness", but itís a clean, solid, rare profile, and a successful one at that. Would absolutely have again; sweet teeth with rejoice. dark brown to black with reddish highlights; chocolaty aroma with coconut and vanilla notes; sweet, roasted malt base; notes of vanilla and crŤme brulee; a bit artificial tasting

Pours a deep clear brown with ruby highlights. Almost no head. Chocolate and malty aroma. Iím picking up mainly chocolate and tobacco in the flavor. Maybe some coconut in the finish.

12oz bottle from BA trade. Poured a medium density dark black with a smaller foamy light beige head that quickly disapates. Aroma is sweet coconut, medium toast, chocolate malts, light roast and a hint of creamy butter. Body is medium at best with light carbonation that comds alive on the end of the swallow. Flavor mimics the aroma but more roasty with burnt toast and dark chocolate. Solid beer.

Pours a deep brownish black from he bottle with fluffy tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of big chocolate and coconut notes, but not a whole lot else. Taste follows, huge coconut and chocolate notes with a hint of porter base behind it. Soft carbonation, medium body, delicious dessert beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours clear nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk chocolate, toasted coconut, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toffee, light coffee, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, lactose, and coconut/chocolate notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, toasted coconut, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toffee, light coffee, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, toasted coconut, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toffee, light coffee, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, lactose, and coconut/chocolate flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding coconut milk stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, lactose, and coconut/chocolate flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
