COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amberley Pale Ale - in this beer we have used American yeast, English malts, American hop varieties (grown in Nelson) and Kiwi passion. The beer shows clean nutty malt flavours with a crisp hop bitterness and a fresh citrus hop aroma.

In the end it’s not that APAish - more like an English summer ale (Maris Gold, Bitter & Twisted). Very pleasing body but taste could do with extra hop and alcohol kick. Great as a relaxing thirst quencher or a drunken session on a summer’s day. A good beer to try with brunch, ploughman’s lunch, salty snacks (nuts etc), fish and creamy/herby pasta.

A tasty beer I enjoyed along with with three others in a sample palette at the brewery in New Zealand. Also the first of five samples that day. Nothing special, but something I could drink it all night easily.

500ml bottle. Good head retention as the big fluffy white head stays a while. Orange colour with big hop aroma overpowering some piney citrus notes.. Flavour is clean and light on the palate with a bit of zesty citrus flavour coming through. Fairly solid flavour hit.

Grapefruit and lemon on the nose, biscuit too. Pale golden coloured. Aroma is sleek and seductive, but after marmalade and wheatbix the taste finishes a little floral and soapy for me. Only started shining thru as the beer warmed thru. Nice enough beer - should be more of it around

Bottle from Minibar in Queenstown. Pours clear gold with a big foamy white head that laces the glass. Big hop aroma with sweet malt, citrus, caramel, and light spices. Great balance of hop bitterness, citrus, and sweetness. Crisp and satisfying, this one is grossly underrated on here. Both Brew Moon beers I tried were very impressive and I hope to get back to New Zealand someday and try more.

Big 650ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a huge floculent white head that collapses and forms little foam islands and leaves thick lace. Very aromatic perfumey citrus aroma, orange blossom comes to mind. There is some nice toasty malt too. Slightly nutty toasty malts complimented by citrus fruity hops. Nicely balanced, delicious flavours, medium bitter finish.

Pours golden, minimal white head. Hop aromas with sweet malt, caramel. Bitter hops are strong tasting initially then quickly neutralised by some sweetness. Astringent yeasty finish.

Pours a clear sparkling golden with a small white head. Light sweetness and some bitterness. Lightly malt aromas of straw and nuts. Quite heavy hopsaromas of citrus and grapefruit. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Bitter finish. Nice cascade burbs.

Bottle, a lively pour, a clear gold with a large rocky white head. A strong citrus hop aroma, maybe a little sudsy. A very light mouthfeel, fruity citrus again and a light bitterness. Maybe a bit thin, but refreshing and enjoyable. Post-note: the maltiness and bitterness increased through the glass and improved the overall balance, getting a couple of extra points from me. I’ll be drinking this again.
