Cask at the Brew Wharf. Pitch black with a loose tan head - looking the perfect stout; aroma of deeply roasted malts and burnt sugar; surprisingly full bodied and very moreish; milky to start with some sweet berry fruits and coffee, then a forceful dry bitterness to finish with coffee grounds and burnt treacle. An excellent idea - shame that this costs the same as a 6% brew though.

RBESG Oct 2011. The Rake. Roasted dry notes in a light drinkable beer. Good. [3.1]
June, 2011. A Diddy Ride: Mes & Sim’s Wedding. Dark and rubbery with aged vanilla oak and some smoke. Some bittering hops to finish. Perhaps a bit too much going on - but plenty of interest. [2.5]

RBESG August 2011, Brew Wharf. Black with a small off-white head. Mild roasted aroma with licorice, along with citrus hops. Dry licorice and roast malt flavour, with a good hop character. Very tasty beer, although with a bit of a homebrew feel.

Cask - Brew Wharf, Borough, London. Cheers Ang! No real head on the pour; dark, deep brown body. Roasty, smoky aromas, some tobacco and a good dried fruit & hoppy juiciness. Dryer & roastier on the palate, hints of coffee, dark chocolate & smoke and a subtle, supple hoppiness coming through. Light to medium body, lingring dry bitter finish, light to medium carbonation, but predominantly soft leaving a gently smoky aftertaste. Rounded & flavourful for such a modest ABV beer.

Cask conditioned handpump at Brew Wharf. Black colour with low head. Lovely nose - juniper, dark berries and noble hops. Really light bodied and very flavourful. Dark berries, juniper, little hops. Pretty low bitterness. Chocolate and coffee. Amazingly flavourful at such a low abv. Lingering dark malts. Excellently crafted.
