COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A collaboration with Hobday & Anspach, homebrewers (pretty good ones imho) who are keen to start their own brewery soon. We used Pale, Melanoidin, CaraPils and Oat malts along with Herkules, Wai-iti & Willamette hops in kettle and Columbus & Kohatu dry hop. We kept the abv low for sale at the Beehive, our sister pub, who prefer to sell beers 4% and below.

At the Brewpub! Almost clear gold beer. Tidy white head. Palate is light and slightly soft. Fine minerally carbonation. Nice hops - bitterish grass and mild orange pith. Unusual trace red berry fruits, strawberry readily identifiable. Touch of marmalade. Finishes dry and pretty bitter. Long strong bitter linger. Nice beer but just a little thin in the palate. The Beehive should sod off and get a life!

A Mes rate. Cask at Brew Wharf. Obviously.
Lovely attractive gold with a good lasting white head. Nice and clean and inviting. Fresh as you like grassy snout with just a touch of malt showing though giving it really good balance. Similar flavour but the hops come right to the front. Superb dusky bitterness and a real delight in the mouth. Pitched perfectly all round. Great bitter finish with superb length. The best thing about this is that it’s a US style beer but with the benefits of a cask on top form. Excellent stuff.

Cask at Brew Wharf. Pale watery amber colour, small bubbly white head. Aroma is soft lemony grasssy hops, little bit of stink. Taste is ok, not massive amount there, quite grainy, little bit of light citrus again. Soft and easy to drink, but not ultra exciting.
