0,75L bottle from the market hall. Sweet nose with roast, chocolate, and light hops, but no smoke. Dark ruby-black body with a great looking, creamy, rocky light brown head. Light-bodied and very soft feel, smooth milk chocolate waves, light bitterness, restrained sweetness. Smoke is only hinted at. Light roast edging toward lighter sourness. Recalls malted milk balls. Subtle citrus/green grass component, and the alcohol is well integrated on the whole, with some mild seepage. A great offering, just not smoky.

(bottle) Black to opaque coloured hue with a beige thick foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of ashes, chocolate, a whiff of smoke and berry-fruity notes, the latter showing an early stage of infection. Moderately burnt bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Moderately roasted malt-character with a delicately smoky note and again some berry-fruity fusels; moderately dry and roasty bitter finish. Nice beers but their bb-date cannot be trusted. 16.III.12

75cl, courtesy of and shared with Tomaz. Bottled 02/2012, not sure where all the infection notes come from, the beer drank fine. Brune foncée, col épais moka/café au lait. Arôme est léger avec un mat fumé restant assez en retrait, note cara avec un bon chocolat et une pointe de café, le tout présente un bouquet houblonné léger laissant une fine amertume en retrait. En bouche, malt fumé est léger, et est là le seul bémol de cette bière, juste plus de fumé aurait été super. Palais est épais et riche sur une fine amertume houblonnée. Garde ce profile très allemand avec ci et là un malt carapils? et houblon nobles, les 9% se font très discret, fumé reste bien subtile, dommage avec ce café qui reste présent sans prendre le dessus. Un bel effort de cette petite brasserie berlinoise qui continue d’innover.

Bottle: Black with a ruby sheen, creamy tanned head that slowly collapses, sweet caramelly and smoky nose, the ususl aromas of leather and coffee underneath, presumably fruity traces of infection detectable; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; lingering sweet caramelly, smoky and malt-bitter finish, infection hardly detectable. Not bad…

Pours pitch black color with medium-sized beige head. Aroma of sour and smoky malts, ripe and acidic fruits, also some vegetables. Flavor of malts, lactic acid, ripe fruits and vegetables. Definitely infected. Offensive.

Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of sour roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour of sour roasted malts, bitter hops, lactic acid and vomit. Light bodied and a very strong alcohol finish. Horrible. Undrinkable. Never again. Clearly contaminated.

Aroma feels rather infected. It is sour with armpit sweat and lactic acid. Flavour is sour and tart with lactic acid, some milk chocolate and hints of smoke. Contaminated stuff in the same way like their IPA was.

Pours pitch black with a nice large foamy head. Strange aroma of tart fruity notes, roasted malts, smoke and ash. Taste is quite untypical too, with some tart notes mixed with fruits, smoke and caramely notes. Probably infected. Finish is sticky and fruity with some tart notes. Unbalanced and messy.

Bottle 750ml.

Clear dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, tart, sour malt, smoke notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light acidic with a long duration, chocolate, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20120323]

Danke Gabriel für das Bier. Meine erste Bierbeschreibung auf Deutsch. Sehr dunkelbraun mit beigem Schaum. Der Geruch ist süß und malzig mit einer subtilen Rauchnote. Der Geschmack ist subtil rauchig, etwas Lakritz, röstmaltzig mit einem trockenen und bitteren Nachgeschmack. Halbvoller Körper. Insgesamt ein gutes Bier.
