Pours nicely with a well-defined head (possibly a bit too gassy). Cloudy amber colour, with a pleasant spicy aroma. The taste is of spicy rye and resin and lingers on the palate. A high quality beer.

Alehouse Project ontap (23-Nov-13) Fruit spice hop aroma. Cloudy amber colour, decent head and lattice lacing. Herbal grass and biscuit malt flavour. Bitter herbal spiced finish and fruit biscuit malt aftertaste.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Hazy amber/copper, massive billowing white head, grapefruit, passionfruit, lychee, solid biscuity/bready malt, spicy/peppery, lovely citrus bitterness, slick texture, full body, lingering spicy bitterness. A super-solid IPA with an added kick of Rye. Loved it.

Maris (1019) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - APR 1, 2014
From a 500ml bottle on 1/4/2014. Pours an extremely cloudy very dark golden with a decent head. Has quite a strong aroma of tropical and stone fruit, with some distinct yeasty notes. Flavour wise, it starts out with sweet stone fruit (apricot and peach), against a light bready/toasty malt background. The rye is very prominent in the firm, spicy bitterness which finishes things off. Has quite a thick texture and very lively carbonation. An enjoyable beer.

Bottled, from Slowbeer, Melbourne, Victoria. Cloudy copper colour, rich firm head. Generous aroma of peach, cat pee and lychee. Mid sweet with light-medium body and well rounded moussy mouthfeel. Pineapple and peach before a really bitter finish with some resiny undertones.

Davros (2025) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 1, 2014
Pours dark copper with a large head. Nose shows tropical fruit by the truckload. Lots of pineapple, lychee, green apple, passion fruit. Underneath is a fruit confectionery note and a spicy rye hit. Aggressively bitter hops as a flavour with spicy, piny and resinous notes. Spicy and toasty rye bready behind with a fair bit of sweet malt too. Body feels a little too thick, stopping it from being as refreshing.

(Bottle) Hazy amber with an off-white head. Fantastic fresh hoppy aroma - full of pine and citrus. Medium body with creamy mouthfeel. Taste is hop driven. There’s a great fresh tangy start with pineapple and citrus. plus some peppery spice notes. Some biscuity malt develops to provide balancing sweetness, along with some richer toasty notes. This quickly gives way to some assertive, but not over the top, hoppy bitterness. It’s a good, and somewhat unusual IPA, that woks well.
