500ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique 111213. Another funky looking label straight from the 70’s and a very good beer to match.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Hazy amber/copper, massive billowing white head, grapefruit, passionfruit, lychee, solid biscuity/bready malt, spicy/peppery, lovely citrus bitterness, slick texture, full body, lingering spicy bitterness. A super-solid IPA with an added kick of Rye. Loved it.

From a 500ml bottle on 1/4/2014. Pours an extremely cloudy very dark golden with a decent head. Has quite a strong aroma of tropical and stone fruit, with some distinct yeasty notes. Flavour wise, it starts out with sweet stone fruit (apricot and peach), against a light bready/toasty malt background. The rye is very prominent in the firm, spicy bitterness which finishes things off. Has quite a thick texture and very lively carbonation. An enjoyable beer.

Bottled, from Slowbeer, Melbourne, Victoria. Cloudy copper colour, rich firm head. Generous aroma of peach, cat pee and lychee. Mid sweet with light-medium body and well rounded moussy mouthfeel. Pineapple and peach before a really bitter finish with some resiny undertones.

Pours dark copper with a large head. Nose shows tropical fruit by the truckload. Lots of pineapple, lychee, green apple, passion fruit. Underneath is a fruit confectionery note and a spicy rye hit. Aggressively bitter hops as a flavour with spicy, piny and resinous notes. Spicy and toasty rye bready behind with a fair bit of sweet malt too. Body feels a little too thick, stopping it from being as refreshing.

(Bottle) Hazy amber with an off-white head. Fantastic fresh hoppy aroma - full of pine and citrus. Medium body with creamy mouthfeel. Taste is hop driven. There’s a great fresh tangy start with pineapple and citrus. plus some peppery spice notes. Some biscuity malt develops to provide balancing sweetness, along with some richer toasty notes. This quickly gives way to some assertive, but not over the top, hoppy bitterness. It’s a good, and somewhat unusual IPA, that woks well.

330ml bottle.
Hazy amber with a very fine cream head.
Nose is explosively hoppy. Lots of great orange, grapefruit and pineapple aromas, some definite simcoe danknesss and a really distinct and clear rye note.
The attack is a really fresh tropical fruit hit, followed quickly by fresh lemon peel and orange on the mid palate and an almost honey sweetness on the back of the tongue. There’s a toasty and spicy rye notes throughout the mid palate and finish, with some biscuit, slight bread and loads of pine freshness on the finish. The finish is long and fairly bitter, but not crazy. This isn’t an over the top IPA.
Medium body with fairly standard carbonation for an IPA.
As usual, an incredible beer from Hendo. Really awesome hop flavours, but balanced by some interesting rye notes.

Hazy amber with only a thin veil of lace. Very fresh citrus and floral aroma, a hint of spice and honey. A little tart and a good hit of bitterness. Big pine resins and the crispness of rye, mild tropical fruits and a good creamy mouthfeel. The finish is dry and bitter, like toasted bread crust. A great IPA, a good example of the growing Rye malt beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
