from Erzbierschof - clear dark brown beer with an elusive beige foam; very complex aroma of rum, caramel, nougat, raisins and alcohol; full-bodied and with a solid initial sweetness; this one is soon overwhelmed by a huge bitterness; thick and heavy; slightoly dry and with a very long hoppy and malty finish with more notes of raisins and rum; solid warming alcohol kick - very impressive

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Very dark brown, rich beige head. Aroma of caramel and raisins. Sweet with near full body and rounded mouthfeel. Deep caramel, dates and rhum. Fudge and white pepper in a bitter finish.

Wonderful beer. Smells sweet and good but when you taste it so the world is completely reversed. The taste is good but heavy and hard. May be because it is stored on Whiskey barrels. This beer is 11.9% ABV. Nothing I have a problem with. The aftertaste is sweet and long lasting. Cloudy worth trying if you manage to get hold of one.

Another birthday bottle from L. Hazy, dark brown body with a moderately large, frothy brown head. Toasty nose with a touch of liquor and rose. A little caramel is also there. Some prune, a little cherry, toffee, and light booze in the flavor. Medium-full body with a pleasant stickiness. Medium carbonation with a toasty finish. A nice beer that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Cask at the Brewdog Bar, Camden. Poured a dark brown colour with a broken whitish tan head. The aroma is super rich, fruity and alcoholic. The taste is bitter and zesty with liqourice fruit, whisky and peaty oak. Quite a spectacular brew, but one to share.
