Bottle. Clear dark brown with a fizzy off white head. Nice floral whiskey, raisin, caramel, and oak aroma. Tastes of peaty scotch, chocolate, burnt caramel, raisin, vanilla, and subtle rum taste with an oaky whiskey finish and a medium bodied sticky palate. Excellent.

Alc 11,9%, a wiec sporo wiecej jak jest podane. No no, piwo w kartoniku. Fajne to dodaje to prestizu, zreszta, takowe jest. Ciemno brazowe i geste z niewielkim przeswitem blisko nozki kieliszka. Piana bezowe ale niezbyt trwala. W smaku to alkoholowe cieplo rodzynki no i oczywiscie rum. Sporo sie go wyczuwalo. Kartonik do kolekcji, polecam.

Wonderful beer. Smells sweet and good but when you taste it so the world is completely reversed. The taste is good but heavy and hard. May be because it is stored on Whiskey barrels. This beer is 11.9% ABV. Nothing I have a problem with. The aftertaste is sweet and long lasting. Cloudy worth trying if you manage to get hold of one.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2013 Bottle from Brewdog. 11.9%. Pours chocolatey brown, small beige head. From start to finish this was raisins and rum. Smell is incredible, sweet raisins, figs, [insert sticky dried fruit here]. The brown sugar, spiciness and caramel are all present too. It?s just a fruity, sweet brew, but obviously has a boozy punch. Nice medium body as you?d expect, a long finish that stillo doesn?t last long enough. Truly one of the very best I?ve had. Please make more.

A perfect ale, for a pirate... Dark ale that screams rum. Pours brown, with a tan head.

from Erzbierschof - clear dark brown beer with an elusive beige foam; very complex aroma of rum, caramel, nougat, raisins and alcohol; full-bodied and with a solid initial sweetness; this one is soon overwhelmed by a huge bitterness; thick and heavy; slightoly dry and with a very long hoppy and malty finish with more notes of raisins and rum; solid warming alcohol kick - very impressive

Aroma: Smelling of toffee, dried apricots, chili and oak.
Appearance: A hazy amber colored beer. A low off-white head with small lacing and good curtains.
Taste: Tasting sweet fruits, plum pudding and liqueur.
Palate: Low carbonation, a soft and oily texture. A big body with a slightly dry finish.
Overall: A really nice dessert.
Note: Bottle 330 ml at a De Klomp tasting. Reviewed 2013-01-26.

cagou007 (326) - FRANCE - FEB 24, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2013 Deep brown colour with a thick, frothy and persistant tan head. Nose is coffee, caramel and hops. Oily-creamy texture, medium carbonation. Aromas are coffee, wood, burnt caramel, hops and raisin. Alcohol is quite present but subtle (rum). Perfectly balanced between sweetness at the begining and bitterness at the end. Long bitter and alcoholic finish. A great experience !
