COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
bottle/keg special
This is a beer for anyone who’s ever asked or been asked for a pony. Now you can have your share in Catherine’s pony. Who’s Catherine? It’s irrelevant. A DIY punk pony that you can have as many of as you like, stabling them in your glass and toasting to their success. Careful, this delectable smoked imperial porter of a pony can kick! With a nose like goose berries and blueberries, stuffed with coffee, covered in chocolate and toasted on a campfire by the beach, Catherine’s Pony is robust and imposing with a herculean mouthfeel. Rich and smooth it grows some teeth as the roasted smoky flavours battle for prominence over the assertive bitterness. A satisfying hoppiness rounds off the palete, leaving you thirsty for the next mouthful. Saddle up, sit back and enjoy this punk rock pony collaboration with London’s own Beavertown Brewery.

Its been a while since I had this one, had it at a beer tasting, so not a very large sample. From what I remember, it was quite smokey...

Bottle at Beavertown Brewery Tap, Tottenham. Very dark brown with a small mid-brown head. The smoke is evident in the nose buy doesn’t dominate. Instead, chocolate, coffee and rum are allowed to run freely up the nostrils. Sweet, nutty, boozy taste. Short bittersweet finish. Thick mouthfeel. Bloody hell is this good or what?

Dark cola brown with tan lacing. Cocoa, molasses, prunes, chutney. Underlying cigar smoke. Unctuously thick body, massive some kick, treacle toffee sweetness, touch of dry roast barley and red fruit in finish. Smoke dissipates on airing.w

330 ml bottle.
Pours a black colour with a beige head. Rich aroma of roasted malts, bilberry pie, sweet rye bread, smoked wood and some toffee. Very rich flavour of roasted malts, grassy bitterness, rye bread, bilberry pie, dark chocolate, English toffee and raisins. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes dry, lingering bitter, roasty, berryish and bready. Just about right, not too heavy, yet fully packed with flavours. Very enjoyable.

0,33 l bottle, Brewdog Onlne Store.
Poured dark, dark, dark, dark brown, so like a black hole that absorbs all the light under a small creamy beige head. Aroma of freaky berries and ash, some liquerice, molasses and earth, some alcohol, coffe and cocoa. Oily body with ash and roasted grains, dark chocolate with coffee beans, some ash and smoke - but not owerpowered, really balanced. After some slips the fruity molasses arrives to do a nice balanced palate. Yumm! Fine roasted-burnt aftertaste. Goood
