3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 ogreface (1113) - Budapest, HUNGARY - SEP 12, 2012

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 FaithHealer1 (333) - SCOTLAND - SEP 11, 2012
Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Pours a deep, clear amber, thin white head. Aroma is ginger beer. Just ginger beer - specifically Fentimans botanical ginger beer, if you’re looking for it. Taste is interesting though not all that enjoyable. caramel, spice, a little bit of resin. Very low bitterness, which is to its detriment - it reminds me of a low ABV beer in that you can sense something is missing. I had to stop every now and then to remind myself that it was 7.5%. Admirable idea and interesting enough, but not fantastic or particularly enjoyable. AB:08 is a much more successful and convincing deconstruction.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear deep golden with a white head. Very spicy aroma, loads of spruce up there. Rich, sweet body, quite some caramel, carbonation is a little low, spicy and herbal, lots of ginger, perhaps white pepper and again spruce. No real bitterness. 100912

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerCast_Rich (1714) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 9, 2012
[330ml bottle, The Beerhive, Edinburgh] Pours a golden coppery colour with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, slightly grassy and herbal. Not the normal kinds of herbs you get from beer - the kind you roast chickens with. The taste is actually alright, albeit pretty strange with the various spicy/grainy/minty elements. Having said all that, the overwhelming thing I get is sweetness, which isn’t that nice. It’s great to experiment though, but Ł4 a bottle? At least it was better than the Flying Dog one [08092012]
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 WeissGary (197) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - SEP 8, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2012 This is a cool beer and is my favourite out of the two International Arms Race beers, I feel that they are both pretty inactive, I wouldn’t call them favourites or even ones I would go out of my way to revisit however they are quite interesting no less and a good bit of international fun between two amazing breweries. Ruby red body, little to no head. Strong and sweet malty like aroma. Very smooth drinking experience despite the 7.5% abv. Quite a sweet up front creamy taste, tapers off with a little bit of an woody aftertaste.

Draught @ Naamat, Tampere.
Pours clear copper color with a small head. Aroma of spices, herbs, mild malts, goose berry bush and toffee. Flavour of spices, toffee, malts, herbs and grass. Bitter palate, spicy kick at the end. A bit weird but not bad.
