COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fury of dots and dashes come trough the receiver. The translator turns in amazement. "A Zero IBU IPA by two breweries separated by sea?" His commanding officer lays a grizzled hand on his shoulder as his eyes narrow toward the horizon. "No bastard ever won a war by playing it safe, son."
The International Arms Race is a new type of battle collaboration between hardcore American craft brewery Flying Dog and BrewDog.
’Zero IBU IPA’ is an ale brewed with berries and herbs.

Yeah, this is not working... Pours a clear dark amber with off-white head. Aroma is, well, what you would expect: berries, fruit, maybe a hint of spices.Very sweet. Taste has caramel malt up front before a finish of, again, sweet berries. In between a fairly rich carbonation to add some element of edge to it, but overall, it ends up way too sweet.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear, medium amber, with an off-white head. Spicy, herbal aroma, spruce, pors, sage, thyme, caramel, malt. Dry, medium body, low bitterness, balanced CO2. Spicy, herbal taste, sage, caramel, toffee, honey, thyme, rosemary. Quite interesting. (2012-08-24)

Poured clear amber with a medium pillowy head that slowly went to a small lacing white one. Freaky aroma with juniper and herbs, laurel, rosemary, pine, dead fallen leaves. Medium sweet flavor with pine again, juniper, herbs. Yes, this is not an IPA but very interesting, good one!

about what I expected. made a beer like this not long ago & tasted the exact same. The herbs used are pretty powerful and there is no getting around it. But always fun to take a step back to what beer was like before we cultivated hops on a massive scale.

Bottle from De Bier Konning, Amsterdam, Netherlands, consumed at home 11th October 2012 Pours clear light amber with a slim white head. Floral, fruity and with a sweet shop element on the nose. I have to say this is a little strange, soft in mouth, perfumey, touch thin, sort of like a watery, beery, florally soapy thing, I actually misspelt thing for thong initially, that made me chuckle, should have kept it like that... Flöska. Clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Spiced herbal sweet aroma. Ok mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet with spice and herbs along with ginger and some malt.

Rather small off-white head. Clear amber to brown colour. Aroma liquorice, mint, similar to our local herb liquor "Demänovka". Cough drops. Under that lies some light smokey maltyness. The taste evolves in a very similar way to mentioned Demänovka. Initially more sweet, herbal. Towards the finish the bitterness takes over, though never above average. Notes of liquorice in the taste and finish too. This has definitely failed as an attempt to create an IPA. I am not sure, what I have expected, also unsure about what I really got. It is interesting and drinkable indeed. Higher ABV is hardly noticeable, if noticeable at all. This is not your regular beer, this does not fit in no beer style. Enjoyable in its own way. If I had a second chance, I would taste it very chilled.

Bottle. Hazy amber gold with a diminishing foam. Aromas are toffee and brown sugar with herbal and floral notes. Spicy with lots of ginger and coriander. Hints of banana with raisins and marzipan. Flavours are red berries with spicy ginger and some burn. Definite vegetable notes with sweet toffee and a herbal, dry finish. A decent experiment.
