COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fury of dots and dashes come trough the receiver. The translator turns in amazement. "A Zero IBU IPA by two breweries separated by sea?" His commanding officer lays a grizzled hand on his shoulder as his eyes narrow toward the horizon. "No bastard ever won a war by playing it safe, son."
The International Arms Race is a new type of battle collaboration between hardcore American craft brewery Flying Dog and BrewDog.
’Zero IBU IPA’ is an ale brewed with berries and herbs.
2 IPAs that rock.
Hunt them both down and see which beer you think deserves to win the battle and the war.

Tide (1882) - Espoo, FINLAND - SEP 30, 2012
Bottle from Brewdog shop. Amber color, white head. Sweet taste with berries, toast, citrus and grapefruit. Good balance in body. Dry bitter finish with berries. Not bad, better than the counterpart of Flying Dog.

Bottle at home, again, thanks to Lewis! Poured golden with obvious carbonation but no head what so ever. Slightly flat in the mouth too. Flavours of spearmint, which is the most noticeable flavour, making it taste like drinking a beer after brushing your teeth. Some woody flavours, herbs (no shit Sherlock!) orange, bay and thyme. It tastes unbalanced and with things going on all over the place, pretty badly melded together. It tastes lie Vikki’s Lush shampoo. Not very pleasant though it is better in the mouth than on the nose

brokensail (11613) - Orange County, California, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma starts off with an interesting spiciness accompanied by a strong malt sweetness of toffee, caramel, and toast. A bit of pepper skin and cocoa powder, too. The flavor is also a nice balance of spice and sweetness. A lot of caramel, toffee, and toasted bread sweetness. Some chili pepper spiciness along with a bit of cocoa powder adds some depth. Interesting beer.

Bottle. Clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, cinnamon and other sweet spices. Flavor is sweet, spiced and has medium carbonization. Little above average.

Habanero (2756) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK - SEP 29, 2012
Bottled. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Nose of caramel and spice. Sweet flavor with herbs, orange, spice, especially ginger and again caramel. Medium bodied. oily texture and soft carbonation. Ends up still spicy an with no real bitterness. A little boring.

Draught at Ørsted Ølbar. Clear copper with a small beige head. Sweetish fruity, spicy herbal aroma with some caramel. Flavor even has notes of winegum and red berries with a little tartness balancing the sweetness and a slightly bitter. Odd one, but quite refined and interesting.

13-SEP-2012, bottle @home, brought by Sonni, from Fish & Beer. Clear golden/orange with lasting tan head. Perfumed with rosemary, mentol, orange peel, (sukat), cardemomme. No real bitterness. Do not like this one. Far too perfumed.

TBone (13002) - Pori, FINLAND - SEP 21, 2012
Bottled 330ml (Birger, BB 05/2013)
Clear copper color, steady beige head. Lots of herbs in the nose (oregano, tarragon), also some sweetish malty notes. Medium-bodied. Same herbs in the flavour plus some pepper. Fortunately in the flavour herbs and spices are not dominating so badly. Bready maltyness, maybe hints of liquorice. I’ve had similar Christmas beers before. Not too exciting.
