Pours orange with a light head that completely disappears within a few minutes. Smells spicy and fruity. Very sweet and malty with almost no bitterness. Sticky texture with little carbonation.

A clear orange/amber colored beer, with a small beige head. The aroma is spicy like clove with fruits and some hop. The taste is sweet spicy, a little bitter. The aftertaste is sweet with spices.

Bright clear amber beer, little white head. Light palate, dry and a little crisp. Sweetish herbs, touch of mint. Floral notes, little lavender. Whisper of bubblegum ester. Grains of paradise. Dry finish. This is a Gruit surely! Quite a sweet one at that.

A very interesting one. I think it could be pine, maybe some juniper berries? Quite flat, no foam (when it got a little warmer, it resembled congac).

Not good. Pours amber with little to no head. Not much of a smell at all, little bit of hops. Taste salty on the tongue with a little hops on the back end. Really disappointing.

330ml bottle. Herbal tea, with some head. Some bitterness, weird flavours, too herbal, light body and carbonation. A really non pleasant one.

Bottle. Orange amber color. Red berries and twigs in the aroma. Red berries, wood and twigs in the spicy flavor. Mint. Limited bitterness. Interesting experiment.

Comparing the two beers like it should be probably be. Thy both smell heavily herbal. The black label even unpleasant. But at the taste the flying dog is slightly favorite. But both are not my kind of beer for sure.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2013 Oct 2012 - bottle. No hops, replaced with herbs and roots etc. Sweet, sasparilla, tastes like incense smells. Slight apple juice taste. Gives me a tickly throat. Doesn’t taste like beer. Isn’t very nice really.

The aroma is sweet and reminds me of my grandparents basement (some grandparents right) with malt, fruit, herbs, and grass. The appearance is hazy copper with a smallish head. The taste is like the aroma with dry finish. The palate is unremarkable. The beer overall is drinkable but not great.
