Veldig god øl. Minner veldig om rochefort 8 og 10. Kjøpt på polet på rygge. Nytes i moss.

Medium brown head doesn’t last. Barely translucent deep dark red body. Sugary molasses aroma with notes of earthy alcohol and prunes. Aroma is fairly vague and mild. Dry-sweet-acidic toffee raisins taste with vanilla and alcohol notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Full-bodied. Dryish earthy compost syrup aftertaste with vanilla and rose water notes. It’s certainly unsual, and fairly drinkable, despite that rotten vegetables flavour Lost Abbey seems to love. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, Strømmen. Batch #176.)

Bottle thanks to Morten. Pours deep brown with a reddish shine, small brown head. Aroma is white raisins, strawberries, dark fruits, dark sugar, lots of rum, a bit spicy, some chocolate, but dominated by dark fruits and rum casks. The taste is quite similar - a lot of malty sweetness, caramel, dark fruits, lots if rum presence. Somewhere in the middle of Imperial porter and barley wine. Very very sweet, but also some considerable roastiness to back it up. Very tasty and well balanced, just a bit too over done on the rum barrel.

Bottle at home. Dark red with a small beige head. Aroma, sultanas, rum, fruity. Medium body, very smooth, almost like a barley wine. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rum and coke. Very light color for an imperial porter. Clear and rosy. Very fine carbonation, odd for they style. Sweet taste throughout with very clear rum barrel presence. Quite boozy. Not bad, but quite disappointing.

ClubGonzo (3526) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2012
Bottle, shared with ej. Pours a deep bronze-hued brown body with a small, off-white head. Nose is smooth dark malts, rum, leather, hints of tar, booze, smoke, wood and hints of raisins and dried plumes. Very nice. Taste is raisiny rum, strong licorice tones, herbs, hints of wood, leather, syrup and alcohol. Smooth blend with a full body and medium carbonation level. Original and craftily made beer from two solid breweries. Recommended.

Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Near black with a small amount of slightly tan foam. Aroma is full of rum, toffee and caramel, with mellow roastyness and woody notes in the back. Some alcohol coming through but not in any bad way, some liquorice in the back also. Taste is of caramel and woody, rum notes. Hints of frutiness of the dark kind, raisins, dates and figs. Body is surprisingly light for such a big beer, and carbonation is low.

Dark as the night, with almost no head. Aroma is very rum, licorice and coffee-dominated, with some leather, chocolate and caramel. Very sweet finish, almost to sweet for me.

Boxed bottle enjoyed at home
Pours dark brown, thin tanned head. Smells of liquorice, dark caramel, tart fruits and roasted malts. Heavy heavy sweet, quite dominant caramel, some of the tartness from the aroma blends in., also some fruityness and roast. Moderate bitter, fruit bitterness and some earthy notes. Quite strange mouthfeel, the bitterness fuzz up the smooth texture, i can’t really say it’s all that pleasent. I like alot of the aspects of this beer, but it don’t blow me away in any way. Still, the fancy box makes my expectations a bit to high for what this beer actually is

330ml bottle. Dark black in colour with a skinny tan head. Spice and rum in the aroma which is pleasant. You can taste the rum in the flavour and the alcohol content is well contained. An interesting and very good beer.
